My 2005 Chevy equinox blower motor was out so I replaced it and the resistor, turned the car on and the fan is only on high and won’t shut off until I turn the car off. It won’t go to a different setting just stays high even if I switch it to medium, low or off what could be the problem?

I already replaced the resistor, I do so when I replaced the motor. Could it be the actual switch?

SOURCE: Blower won't shut off

You will need a Blower motor resistor and maybe a blower motor resistor connector end. If you look under the dash on the passenger side(may need to remove smooth black cover, vents will be sticking out) you will see a connector going straight up into the blower motor resistor(7 wires/slightly in front of blower motor). Pull out the connector and check for melted terminals/wires. If no melted terminals just replace blower motor resistor with part # 89019088 per GM to revert to part before 04 in order to stop blower motor resistor relay from hanging. Let me know if i can help more.

SOURCE: 2001 Chevy Blazer blower motor not working

It keeps burning out blower resistors because of the blower motor drawing to much amperage so you will need to replace the resistor and blower motor

2000 Chevrolet Impala blower motor work from 1-4 but not on 5th speed why?

The blower motor relay is energized when the Blower Motor Control is set to the High position. This removes the blower motor resistors from the circuit and battery voltage is then applied directly from the HVAC BLO fuse (RH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) to the blower motor though the relay switch contacts. The blower motor then runs at high speed.

HVAC Blower Controls Circuit Description
The blower motor is a variable speed motor. The motor operates at a higher rate when voltage is increased to the maximum level.
The blower motor resistors reduce the voltage supplied from the A/C FAN fuse (LH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) when the blower control is set at low and medium speeds (speeds 1-4).

Blower motor won't shut off on a 2005 chevy monte carlo

Your post is not making sense. If the blower motor wasn't shutting off, how would replacing it cause anything to change? Clearly, there is a problem with the power supply TO the motor. If you want the motor to turn off, you need to check WHY the power to the motor is not cut off when the switch is turned to the off position. Probably a bad switch. Or it could be the blower motor resistor even, albeit a lot less likely.

2001 chevy express fan motor doesnt work on high

That woul be a bad blower motor resistor or a bad blower motor resistor connection.Turn on the ignition switch and put the fan switch on high then pull on and wiggle the connector going to the resistor. These resistors get hot and usally melt the connector causing it to loose its contact with the prongs. The resistor is located on the passenger side mounted on the heat duct with to screws.

2005 equinox a/c unit blower comes on and shuts off randomly and sometimes stays off for days...but blows cold air

I have the same problem. I brought it to the local chevy dealer to run a test. The following is quoted from the chevy dealer. "The tech found that the circuit for speed#1 in the resistor was open and removed blower motor and found internal damage-will fail soon. Vehicle needs new blower motor and resistor parts and labor - $414.28." It makes sence but the lady in front of me was complaining about a $800 bill for a diagnostic that did not fix her problem. They where now asking for another $500 to take another shot at it.

Blower motor will not turn off when car is off.

If it's only working on high setting it is usually the blower resistor that needs replacing. They are usually located under dash, passenger side, remove cover, and it should be bolted or screwed near blower motor itself. $10-$20 part
