I would go straight to the starter solenoid connector(under spare tire) and check for 12v signal while turning the key. If there are 12volts present with key in start...replace starter motor. This is the most probable and fastest way to check you no crank condition.Realy is under dash, driver side in the event you want to access that.

95' camry wagon, fuel pump only comes on when key is turned to start position. if car starts will not stay running. how do i check the fuel pressure regulator /

I don't think the EFI relay is at fault. Other things would be dead if it was, including the starter. See here p177 to test fuel pressure, which may be too low if the fuel pump itself or the pressure regulator is faulty.

1992 subaru legacy starter relay?? car wont start

I prefer Big O tires.. they are great at helping and are better than Firestone and a little less expensive.. I am having the same problem. I have a new selenoid but I'm not sure where it is.. It isn't like a normal car where the positive terminal from the battery connects to it. That cable connects directly to the starter..

My 94 subaru legacy wagon wont start. It only clicks when i turn on the key. I had starter checked and it tested good.

Hello and welcome to FIxYa!

It can be caused by a week battery. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you have the battery charged or have it replaced for the starter to kick fully.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Where is the location of the starter relay on a 1994 subaru legacy wagon.

The relay should be behind the dashboard and accessible from underneath it. It is a 4 pole relay and blue and white colored. It is next to a silver/white relay to help identify it.

My 1997 Subaru Legacy wagon started to develop problems starting in the last few weeks. We got a new battery and the problems persisted on very cold days. Sometimes turning the key several times was the...

It could be the relay, But I don't think you have one, most starters are direct wired from the key to a solenoid on the starter, If there is a relay, it is the big fuse box under the hood, and is just a electric switch, not subject to cold. It sounds more like the terminals are filthy and the contacts are not connecting. Clean off all the wires with a wire brush and scrub the terminals with it, get underneath the connections too. Where the battery cables connect to the lead terminals, If I was up there I would be plugging in my car at night to keep it warm. It will start right up in the morning.

95 Subaru Legacy wagon won't turn over with a jump start. The battery, alternator and starter have been replaced recently. Does anyone have a clue as to why this may be?

you need to make sure that all connections from each unit are attached properly and free of corrosion.
also it is not unheard of to get a bad part fresh out of the box. so you may want to check that as an option too.

Possible starter going out on 95 Legacy

providing your battery cable connections are clean and tight, it is probably the solenoid (starter) thet is worn out... but check all your connections first.

It wont start

That sounds more like a dead battery than anything else. The bendix, the bit that engages the starter to the flywheel, usually goes bad a bit more slowly and causes more dramatic persistent grinding. A bad starter is also possible, as are bad battery cables. The starter mortor and bendix are both replaced when you install a rebuilt starter. If a jump start doesn't solve the problem, and connecting a jumper cable directly from the + battery terminal to the starter motor doesn't help then replace the starter. If it does help, then the problem is probably the battery cables.
