I believe there is a plastic cover at the brake pedal that you have to remove to see the switch.

Use the VAGCOM software tool, or just disconnect & reconnect the battery, that will reset any existing faultcode in the ECU.

SOURCE: locate oil filter in vw touareg

Oil filter is somewhere beneath the engine.

Buried your head under the car and you will find the oil filter above a cross-brace. There it is easy because there is enough room for you to remove and replace it.

Cheers.

The retraction tool all depends on the caliper. My 04 Touareg came with 4 piston Brembo's in the rear and they do not require rotation just compression as in the front which are Brembo 6 piston.

Where is the location for 2008 VW Touareg Brake Light Switch? It's located under the steering and it's not located behind the Master Cylinder.

Have you checked behind the brake pedal on the push rod that goes through the bulkhead panel? In could be mounted inside the vehicle and not in the engine bay.

Why VW Touareg V6 3.0 TDI Automatic: can't shift out of park?

Shift interlock problem. This is designed to keep the car from being shifted out of park by accident without your foot on the brake. The easy is to chaeck and make sure your brake switch is working and all your fuses are in working order. You should be able to over ride the interlock if you still have issues by inserting your key into a small slot located somewhere near the sifter. If the fueses are good and the brake switch is working you will need to have the interlock assembly diagnosed.

EPC LIGHT

The EPC light has to do definitions. One has to do with the tire pressure monitoring system. The other is the transmission line pressure control. I wish you could give me more information but to take a stab at this problem I will guess that your problem has to do with the brake-light switch (on the brake-pedal). Sounds like the switch is stuck on or defective and the TCC (torque converter clutch) Is getting a constant signal to disengage. Thus that's why you can shift without using the brake-pedal. Good luck.
Let me know how your making out.

Have a vw touareg 2005, esp light stays on and car becomes absolutely impossible to drive. revs high to change gear and is not smooth in gear change.power shuts off in motion. have tried every thing but...

the esp light is caused by failure of the brake light switch in most models. check your brake light operation and replace the switch if the brake lights have failed. the switch is found in the footwell above the brake pedal

Brake Pad Replacement,2004 VW Touareg,V6 instructions

Same as any other vehicle.

1. Raise and support vehicle
2. Remove tire/wheel
3. Loosen/remove the two caliper bolts
4. Slide caliper off the rotor.
5. Use a C-Clamp to depress the caliper piston
6. Remove old pads from caliper
7. Install new pads on caliper
8. Install caliper/tighten caliper bolts
9. Install tire/wheel
10.Lower vehicle
11 Move to next wheel/repeat

Some people take a turkey baster and remove some of the brake fluid from the master cylinder prior to depressing the caliper piston because it can over flow. If you choose to do that just add the fluid back when finished so it is at its proper level.

Need to remove headlight assembly on a 2004 Volkswagon Touareg. I can't locate the removel clip. (last step)

Once you turn the octagon screw to release the light and push it forward or out of the front of the vehicle, take a light and look to the left side if your working on the driver side or the right side if your working on the passenger side and you will see a metal tab release. Take a long flat head screw driver and press down toward the ground gently. The headlight will be released and the whole assembly comes out as it has a plug/electrical connection on the back of the assembly. I just replaced my headlights, I have a 2004 Touareg with 44,000 miles and have already gone through 2 sets of headlights. The VW dealer will want $300.00 to replace 1 side! They have lost their minds. How long have you had yours and what engine do you have? Just curious if you have had any problems? My Touareg has just needed tires, brakes, headlights. I have done the brakes as well. They want around $900.00 + for front plus about 8 for the rear. If you need anything just hollar and if you have any questions just let me know if I canhelp.
