Power stearing rx 8 2004 You need cleaning the two gray plugs below canister air filter. One plug have 2 power cables and other plug have four or five cable. You need electric contact cleaner and cleaning both plug terminal pins Verify the contact must be very clean. The more important is the hose for drainage from the coolant bottle. This is the principal cause of throuble. This is a short hose for drainage. When the car is hot, the hose drainage vapor and drops coolant. This vapor and coolant impact the gray plug and the cable is hot. This causes shutdown of the power steering. change the hose to a longer one so it wont drop fluid on to electrical harness. For finish remove the negative battery cable for reset the electrical system. cleaning the main fuse of power stearing on positive pole of battery. Check the contact this needs to be very clean. check the pole of battery. cleaning both poles if necessary change battery connection. Hope this resolves the problem if not please take it to a qualified technician as you dont want to mess around with steering or brakes for that matter.

Leaking power steering 2001 renault megane cabriolet

OK... You see it under the car, right? Go in the engine and under it to wipe splashed power steering fluid off the surfaces. Next, put white paper towels under the areas of the engine below where the power stearing pump and hoses are. Run the vehicle at idle and turn the stearing wheel left and right while someone looks under the engine and back to the hoses and stearing pump on top. Yo might be lucky and see spirting from a hose or fitting! If not there should be dripping onto the paper eventually. Turn off the engine and look for streams running down those hoses. Follow the streams upstream to the leak or leaks. If they are from cracked hose, chamge both hoses. If they are from a seal in the power steering pump, replace or rebuild the pump.

YOURS is HYDRAULIC assisted... meaning... when
your HYDRAULIC pump fails... (not power steering)
EXACTLY like AIR-BRAKES... (Compressor fail)...

The BRAKES get applied...!!

>> AS designed...!! <<

You CANNOT let your HYDRAULIC systems fail...

You cannot even steer your vehicle...

Hi i have a rx8 2004 and my stearing wheel its so hard to move and the other thing its the gear its not working well it fell like not getting well the car by spedding and some time its like not moving and...

hi,

open your hood. check if the power steering liquird reservoir is not full. if yes, trace the hose attached to the reservoir and check if there are leaks in the hose. if you cant find the leak, go to your nearest mechanic and inform him that you have a leaking power steering.

regarding your problem on gears, change your transmission oil and check if this resolves your problem. if not, find a reliable transmission mechanic to give you a details diagnostic of your problem. the common cause of this "gears issue" are transmission oil and synchronizer. only experienced transmission mechanics should replace this part.

the easy and cheap way to do this is to disconnect your battery for a minimum of 5 min. you can always find a person with a obd 2 reader and plug that into the port under your stearing wheel at the bottom of the dashboard. goodluck

How to replace the Powers Stearing Pump hose. Best way to go about it? The tube comming off the Power Stearing Pump has broken. What is the easyest way to replace it?

With a small hack saw or tubeing cutter cut the tube off as close to the fitting as you can, this will allow you to pu a socket on it because an open ended wrench will slip and you WILL blead or at least curse. If it has to be replaced then you have no need to save it.

Power stearing noise it grones as I am stearing.

it is possible that you might need to check the fluid level, if it is full the next step night be to have the system flushed out and replace the Power steering filter. Finally last would be to have the powr Str pump replaced, Good Luck!

Sounds like a brake caliper hanging up. Check the slides to see that they're smooth working. Jack the right side up & make sure the front wheel turns fairly easy. If it's dragging alot then the caliper slide is fubar or the brake hose is collapsed internaly. Replace the hose if that's the case.
