I have the identical symptoms as dlk9296. Sure wish I knew what the fix was. [email protected] I drive about 10 mins. ABS light comes on and trac control button "off" button illuminates. Some times just before the ABS lamp goes back out, the "green" trac control dash lamp comes on briefly and all lamps turn off---system normal.
It sounds to me like either the abs sensor itself or the abs rotor is cracked or may have some debris in it. Loose pads would not cause this and you would hear a lot of noise if pads were loose. Clear code and see if it returns if so then its sensor or rings for that particular wheel, change and clear if still then your abs module or computer for abs is bad. Either way I have worked on vehicles for 15yrs and hate abs so I would ignore the light cause brakes will still work properly either way its just tellin ya so no worries I promise abs sucks anyways
Sounds like you have loose brake pad linings.
The traction control measures rotational speed between each rear wheel. If your pad lining momentarily causes one wheel to hesitate your trac control will flash. As the ABS detects braking without the brake pedal being pushed, it will flash.
Check your emergency brake pads. They can fall apart inside the drum/rotor combo on the rear. That is where your sensor is for the ABS.
