Hello Melissa,

Blue smoke is caused by burning oil. If you get blue smoke at startup or when taking off from a stop then you probably have leaky valve seals. The oil is getting past your seal and into the combustion chamber; When you startup the car the combustion chamber burns off the oil causing blue smoke.

You will definitely need to get this car to a shop, this will involve getting into the internal components of the engine.

I have a 02 dodge 1500 4.7 when you let idle and give it a little gas it wants to smoke a little blue smoke after a few seconds it clears up what could be the problem its got a 194,000 miles on it

Hello Aaron, Bad valve seals can cause your engine to smoke after start up and clear up after a few seconds of running. Sometimes the valve seals become hard and brittle. They can break up and restrict the oil return holes in the cylinder heads, causing oil to seep into the cylinders through the valve guides.

95 ford probe car runs ok but blows whitish blue smoke as accelerate

That is probably the head gasket leaking. White smoke is from antifreeze going through the exhaust. The engine compression is pushing the water out of the radiator.

Blowing blue smoke at start up

Hmm, is this an older car? Blue smoke on start-up is usually a sign of a very minor oil leak going past the rings.

I normally do not consider this to be a problem if:
  1. The car has sat for an extended period of time.
  2. It only happens on the initial start up and doesn't do it after sitting for an hour or so.

My truck is blowing white smoke out the tail pipe and I have no power wont go but I can idle around its a 2055 f250 turbo diesel, 300000 kms...litterally just started doing this a couple days ago..now ...

White smoke for a diesel means air in the fuel system. You will have to start at the engine, I start at the line going to the fuel pump. Get some fuel in a can, remove the line to the supply side of the pump and put another line from the can to the pump. If it starts and doesn't smoke , then you have to work your way back to the tank and find the spot that is sucking air. If it doesn't start the I would replace the filter first, check again. There is a possibility that the injector pump is bad, but these don't usually throw white smoke. They just make the engine have very little power or no start.
