The brake light flashes for lots of reasons it could come from the alternator not putting out enough charge check your belt to see if it is tight could be slipping occasionally.

My red handbrake symbol keeps flashing what does this mean please

The handbrake light is usually not the handbrake light, it is a warning light for the whole braking system. You could have a problem with the abs system, low brake fluid in the master cylinder or brake pads worn down.
The brake fluid reservoir is easy to check, just lift up the hood and it should be right there mounted on top of the brake booster, in line where the brake pedal is.
The brake pads on modern vehicles have sensors that warn you when they need replacement, so have them checked.
Finally of course, you could have a loose wire on the handbrake warning switch which is mounted at the base of the handbrake, or if you're very lucky, you might just need to drop the handbrake just a fraction more before you drive off.

Abs warning light on and handbrake not working

It sounds like one or both of of your rear brakes is dragging or partially seized up.this would cause the ABS light to register. To fix the problem it will require you to service the brakes by freeing up the parking brake and getting everything moving again.Use a lubricant for brakes.Check the rear brake lining as they may be worn from being partially on.Make sure the caliper assembly is also moving freely and doesn't need replacing. This is of course if you are handy with a set of tools. If you haven.t done this kind of work before take it in and have it looked at.Brake work is either 100% correct or dangerously wrong.Good Luck

My break light keeps coming on

You are low on brake fluid, the handbrake is engaged, or the switch on the handbrake needs to be looked at. If it is the ABS light, there is a problem with the ABS system. The brakes will still work fine, you'll just have regular brakes with no ABS.

The handbrake button light keeps flashing & the handbrake wont go off

Misplace/Broken switch located next to the back of hand brake. Hand brake is on. Low brake fluid. Check brake pads by removing tire. Change brake fluid if it's time.

Hi, handbrake warning light function?

Quite often if you can get a look down beside handbrake, which may require removal of boot, you may see a switch that is activated by pulling handle, as well as an adjustment that would allow you to tighten slack in cable, up a bit to eliminate slack that is most likely causing the light to flicker. If not there, look under car where it attaches to the 2 rear cables for an adjustment, and tighten it up there. Not too tight, as you don't want brakes dragging, just snug. Remember, safety stands while your under there if it has to be done from under.

Occasionally the right turn signal light turns on when braking

Sound's like their is a problem with the right hand rear light cluster. The reason it only happen's going down a hill is you applying the brake. The only place the brake and indicator light's come together is the rear clusted. To check this apply the hand brake gently with the button held in instead of useing the foot brake. This may not be the fault but it is worth a try as it seems the most likely problem.

Handbrake indicator light

I'm sorry but i laughed in dismay when I read your problem. The dealer is an idiot clear and simple. It is perfectly reasonable for you to expect the handbrake to be disengaged if the indicator is off.
Yes it is quite possible to drive the car with the handbrake on but you would feel it no question. However if it was only slightly engaged there would indeed be some wear on the rear brakes. The handbrake has merely got a thin metal cable that runs underneath your car that splits into two separate cables which in turn connect to the rear left and right brakes. So there aren't any extra brakes for the handbrake just the ones which are on the rear wheels.

Of course the other thing is you may have a faulty handbrake indicator light. So it's not really about who's fault it is but where the fault lies on the car. I'd go and check out a local garage unless of course your car is still under warranty.
If it is go to another dealer and armed with the info above don't let them fool you
Good luck and i hope you get it sorted

Loud low hum coming from the front of the car when accelerating. The handbrake/brake fluid light occasionally flickers on as I'm driving too. I recently hit the curb quite ******* the front left wheel. Do...

Hi ea
Im dave

The loud low hum sounds like a wheel bearing although i cant actually hear it. Does the sound get louder on right turns? Brake light coming on usually means low fluid check your fluid resorvoir if it below the max mark fill to the max mark. If it has run dry you probably need to bleed your brakes. The light however could mean your handbrake isnt fully released. Be sure it is all the way off if fluid level is adequate and the positioning of the cable is not kinked somewhere under the handbrake.
