Truck wont start. security lite on. doesnt seem

I know my car has a security issue on it that if you leave the key in the ingition but dont start it after a couple of minutes, it sets off a security issue. If you will turn the key to the ON position but do not try and start it for at least 10 minutes, this will reset the security on the car. You can try and start the car after 10 minutes either by just turning the key over like you normally would or, if it doesnt crank, turn the key off and then try to start it. This SHOULD work.

Your passkey security system is activated. The key has a transponder chip in it, if the ignition doesnt read that signal correctly, your anti theft will kick in to stop a potential car theif. Try turning the key forward like you are trying to start it. 2 clicks forward, for 10 minutes. Then turn it back and forward again and try to start. This may reset your system. If not, Its probably DEALERSHIP time.

try disconnecting the battery should reset the system

I discovered the hard way- ($85.00 later) Step 1: turn key to "on" position. step 2: open driver door. (security light should be flashing on and off) step 3: wait ten minutes with key in "on position and driver door open. step 4: when 10 minutes is up-(youll know-because security light will have stoped flashing after 10 minutes) close driver door ,turn key to "off" position, then turn key "on" to start. drives me crazy!! I have to do it to mine sometimes 2-5 times a day! GM doesnt have a fuel reset button etc. like fords do.

try locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key. [sometimes if you reach to un lock door through window it it sets off security]

You need to set the parking brake, Turn the key on let it sit like that for 10 mins. the sec light will either start flashing or will stay on or go off when done (This will reset)
REPEAT 3 times!
Then you should be able to start the car after the 3rd time!

try resetting the security system, follow this procedure.
PASS LOCK RESET GM CARS 1999 UP
1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the passlock system to recognize your key.

TRY THIS RESET FOR THE SECURITY SYSTEM.

sounds like a security problem. most hondas have a chip in the key try another key. if your battery went dead that will make your security light come on when you try to start it will run for a few seconds then shut off look at the light indecater that shows a key or says secureity. this light will flash at you and continue as long as you got the key in the start posistion. the car may think its been stolen. using the correct not a spare that is used to unlock the doors.but the key you use every day put it into the door and turn it to lock twice then unlock twice this should reset your system
if you have a security system that is after market look under your dash board for a red or yellow wire that has a small reset button on it. above the pedals or on the left side of the floor board by the fuses. if you have this type turn the key to the on but not start hold the button for 5 seconds then let go. turn the key off wait 10 seconds then try to start your car K HAVE FUNNNNN

TRY STARTING CAR IF NOTHING LEAVE KEY ON FOR 10 MIN AND THEN TRY TO START CAR AGIAN DO THIS 3 TIMES AND LEAVE KEY ON FOR 10 MINTUES AND DO NOT TRY TO START CAR JUST WAIT AND FOURTH TIME TRY TO START IF NOTHING TURN KEY OFF AND WAIT 10 MIN AND THEN TRY TO START YOUR CAR WHAT THIS DOES IS RESET YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM IN YOUR CAR
