You will need to get some kind of ignition system first. I would recommend getting an MSD. It will come with wiring instructions, and it will be all you need to run the motor.

no car told ,at all just VAN and Chrysler told
no VIN, no year ,no van model and worse no engine told (size and cylinder count)
dies in Drive and Reverse and low PRNDL
not told fuel it burns gasoline ,diesel, LNG, LPG, or?
for this failure top cause is low fuel pressure.
but we can hear the engine, if misfiring or just bogging
bogging is smooth loss of power not violent
like walking in a mud swap, smooth.
post the vin and we tell you what's under the hood.
Maybe starter solenoid or starter itself bad. Buy yourself a 12 volt light type tester $5 find solenoid to starter, have someone try to start while you have one lead on one of the small wire terminal and the other lead on the other small wire terminal. If you get light solenoid should work and u will hear click. If starter does not turn over place one lead of tester on large wire terminal and other lead on large wire terminal, if you get light with person trying to start engine you have a solenoid that contacts are not making contact. Also if you have been mud bogging or somehow immersed the starter in water you may have blown starter fuse.
More info is needed. Has it been upgraded to fuel injection? What is idle set to in park? Is there an aftermarket cam installed?
If it was originally in a manual transmission car and your car is automatic the idle will need to be adjusted higher. If it has been upgraded to fuel injection (throttle body injection) I would start by checking the idle air control.
If we have more info about the engine we can help out more.
