Having a problem with 1997 chevy camaro. The battery is good, the starter will turn over and crank with help from underneath. Think it is the ignition switch, but not sure. Steering wheel has an airbag and have no knowledge of how to disconnect it before removing the steering wheel. What can be done to check if the ignition switch could be the problem?

You have an ignition lock, and an ignition switch that does the electrical part. These do get "burnt" up and develop poor connections. This is mounted on the top side of the steering column. Don't forget you also have a park/neutral switch.
most likely you have a pass key problem.
