Your battery is not charged and gets drained constantly, dome lights doesn't take much voltage to be lit. Get a voltmeter and check on the battery. Engine off it should be all charged up and 12V ish. Try to start your engine, should be 13-14v charging, if not, then it is your alternator not charging or SOMEHOW your battery doesn't receive enough charging from the alternator.
When you turn on the headlight while engine is running and died off because the alternator some how couldn't supply enough current to power both headlights and motor ignition system
Get your alternator tested, before that all connections between alternator and battery is NOT LOOSE, or broken or damaged. Then go to auto electrician. Then sort out your fuses later.
if your plugs were changed and it misfires make sure the wires where put on write then make sure that wires are good and pun some Chevron fuel injector cleaner thru it place 2 wire with another good wire if the misfire goes to that cylinder then you are dealing with a wire problem let me know
When you turn the ignition to start, do you hear the starter turning and the solenoid engaging the flywheel ? test your starter by jumping it and see if the engine turns over. If this works, then you might consider in checking fuel pressure. Do you have any codes in your ECM ?
First jump it from a car with a running engine. If it starts then you most likely have a bad charging system and that is why your battery s dead. Remove the alternator and get it tested at autozone. If it does not start with a jump then you need to see if the starter is good, remove that and get it tested. If the starter is good, then you have something binding the crankshaft and a replacement used engine most likely the cheapest way out.
R&R the starter on a 91-01 S series Saturn is not easy, look on youtube.com for a video. They all have the same engine block and the starter is in the same place, on the back jammed between the engine and the firewall, under the intake.
I would try a fuel pump first. Make sure that the spark plugs are getting spark. If they spark then there is a very good chance it is the fuel pump. I would spray some starting fluid in the air filter, if the car starts then it is going to be most likely the fuel pump.
