I have a 2002 Ford Explorer. I replaced the battery and now the battery charging light on the instrument panel is on (red) and the gage shows a very low charge. I took my truck back to AutoZone, they checked the new battery, they told me the battery was charging properly and that I need to check my relays and fuses. The alternator is also working properly. Also, my radio will not work now as well as the clock. The A/C works but will not blow on high anymore. Any ideas as to what relay or fuse it might be?

Engine Temperature Gage at the Instrument Panel not working

Your temp.gauge is probably bad ! Check for voltage at the coolant temp. sender ! You have to check it with the engine running . The red with white stripe should have a voltage the other wire ,yellow with red stripe is ground side ! Instrument panel fuse box fuse # 15 a 10amp fuse powers the gauges ,if your gas gauge works it's not the fuse . The dome lights get there power from an other fuse an circuit ! Did you check the bulb ? Check fuse # 8 IP fuse box , also a 10amp . Check for voltage at the dome light ,switch on !

What are the three wires on the back of the alternator for and what color does what o2 ford escape

It depends on which system you have. In both cases, there is a black and yellow wire that goes to the fuse box and a 15 amp fuse. This wire provides stator current to run the alternator. There is also a yellow and white wire that goes to the fuse box that provides the charge current to the battery. Now depending on the system, there may be only one additional wire (light green/red) to the instrument panel battery light or there are 2 wires (brown/white and grey/orange) that go to the PCM. In the latter case, the PCM monitors the charge current and then turns on the instrument panel light when the charge current is insufficient. In the former case, the alternator has circuitry to determine when the batter light should turn on. OK? Is there a problem we can help you with?

I have a 2004 ford Explorer, 4x4 and this is the second alternator put on it, the first one they said was putting out too little amps, and this one is too much, plus the instrument panel shows the needle...

YOU NEED TO CHECK OR CALL THE FORD DEALERSHIP.TELL THEM YOUR ENGINE SIZE AND YEAR OF VECHICLE.THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT AMP ALTERNATOR TO USE.IF YOU HAVING IDLING PROBLEMS.WHEN YOU DISCONNECT BATTERY.TO REPLACE ALTERNATOR.THE COMPUTER LOST MEMORY.WHICH WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE IDLE CAUSING VECHICLE TO STALL OUT AT STOP SIGNS OR LIGHTS.THE COMPUTER WILL RELEARN ITS SELF BUT ITS BEST TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP TO RESET YOUR IDLE SO YOUR VECHICLE WILL STOP STALLING OUT ON YOU.

My check gage light is on what do i do help!!!!!!!!!!

A "check gage light" typically indicates a faulty reading on one of the gages located on your instrument cluster. After starting your vehicle, observe your instrument cluster if one of the indicator needles on the instrument cluster remains all the way to the left or "pegs" out all the way to the right, it may be the cause of your fault. The exception is the coolant temperature gage it will take 10 to 15 minutes after which the needle should rise to a normal position. Correcting the "faulty gage light" will depend on which gage is malfunctioning. Once you have figured out which gage is causing the check gage light to illuminate, then we can proceed to correcting the problem causing it.
