My 2004 dodge neon makes a wierd noise when starting it upo and it doesn't like to turn over sometimes. i've heard it could be the alternator or the starter. i had the camshaft sensor replaced last year and the car has only 58,000 miles on it.any advice would be appreciated.
IF ITS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE WONT TURN OVER.CHECK BATTERY CABLE FOR TIGHTNESS AND NO CORROSSION. THE BATTERY VOLTAGE. SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF NOT HAVE IT CHARGED AND TESTED.IF ITS GOOD HAVE ALTERNATOR CHECKED OUT.IF BOTH IS GOOD HAVE THE STARTER REMOVED TO HAVE IT AND THE STARTER SOLENOID TESTED.NOTE DUE TO LOCK OUT FEATURE.TURN OFF RADIO SO YOU WONT LOSE CODE WHEN YOU DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.

Let the car sit undisturbed for 10 - 15 minutes, then try to start it. Check the owners manual if you have it. Sometimes, on various cars letting them sit awhile will allow the system to reset itself. On others sometimes rapidly turning the key from off to on, without turning to start 3 to 8 times within 10 seconds and then on the last turn to the on position leave it there until the horn chirps, at that point turn the key directly to start, or turn off first and turn to start. If all this fails, a dealer can reset the system.
