How do I remove the power window motor on a 1989 Ford Bronco? I have all the trim panels off and the door is exposed. Is there an easy solution to gain access to the motor. I am attempting to replace the bushings in order to move the window up and down. The motor works fine.

The motor is located at the front of the door at bottom, on the sheet metal in front of the motor u will see three dimples/indentations in the door skin sheet metal covering the motor, drill them out with a 1/2" drill bit, use a 1/4" drive 8mm or 5/16" deep socket and a short extension and remove the three bolts that hold the motor into the regulator, then gently push back on ,motor, remove harness to motor and remove motor through access hole.

I have a 1989 Ford Bronco and when I put the key in the back window it won't roll up or down how do I fix it thank you very much have a great day

More than likely the motor that runs the window up and down has gone caput, remove the rear trim panel and check that motor. Also check the electrical wiring to the key switch, it can get damaged, I have seen both parts at fault at the Ford dealer I worked for.

My 1989 Bronco II driver side window won't go up. I hear the motor, but window doesn't go up

The gears are either misaligned or stripped. I really doubt they ate stripped. Getting the door panel off is a pain, but you will figure it out. I'm not talking about your model specifically, but typically you will have to remove 2 to 3 screws in the arm rest. And one screw in the hollow under the door handle. After that, the door should only be held on by christmass tree fasteners. Which are just plastic cone shaped fasteners that snap into a hole in the sheet metal. Try to be as close to the fasteners as possible while popping them out, so you don't tear them off the door skin. There is a tool made for this that I am sure you could borrow from autozone. It's a trim removal tool. The large gear that pushes your window up is most likely just out of place. Be careful. And make sure the battery is disconnected before you put your fingers in harms way.

How to change the power window motor for ford F150,1999 xlt 1 1/2 cabin. Thank you.

1. Raise glass to full up position. (Often, this step is not possible due to broken window regulator or faulty motor. you just have to figure a way around it)

2. Remove door trim panel

3. Peel back water shield. Be careful not to tear it, so it can be put back into place.

4. find the 2 "dimples" in the door panel just opposite the window motor assembly. Using a 3/4" hole saw with a 1/4" pilot, drill the door panel at the dimples to expose the window motor mounting screws. The third motor mounting screw should be accessible without drilling.

5. remove the electrical connector from the motor

6. remove the mounting screws

7. Remove window motor.

8. To install, reverse removal procedure (skipping step 4)

  2. Open the window. Remove the trim panel and watershield and support the window.
  3. Disconnect the power window motor connector.

  5. Separate the motor and drive from the regulator on a workbench.
  6. Installation is the reverse of removal.

  2. Remove the door trim panel.
  3. Disconnect the window motor wiring harness.
  4. There may be a drill dimple in the door panel, opposite the concealed motor retaining bolt. Drill out the dimple to gain access to the bolt. Be careful to avoid damage to the wires.
  5. Remove the motor mounting bolts (front door) or rivets(rear door).
  6. Push the motor towards the outside of the door to disengage it from the gears. You'll have to support the window glass once the motor is disengaged.

How do I get the power window motor out of the driver's door?

Hi,
The way to remove the power window motor is to remove the door panel, you should see three dimples in the sheet metal of the door close to the motor, drill out these dimples with a hole saw large enough for a 8mm socket to penetrate the sheet metal of the door and remove the three bolts holding the motor to the window regulator and disconnect the hard shell electrical connector. The lowest whole will need to have a rugged tape applied because it will be visible after the door panel is reinstalled.

I cannot locate the broken audio amplifier in my recently obtained 1989 Bronco II. I don't want to disassemble the whole thing if I don't have to. Help?

It's behind the right front kick panel. Remove the trim peice from under the door, remove the kick panel screw, and pull out the kick panel, that last part will be a little tough but it can be done without taking off the roof trim.
