Trying to open audi a4 bonnet, removed from grill and srews but can't get the third one which is right back, lever moves up and down no problem but looks to be catching

    is the latch not opening with leaver .Or does the bonnet open and catch not realiseing

I took a long thin screwdriver and slid it under the bonnet and pressed it against the latch release and give the screwdriver a good whack and that freed the latch so the bonnet could open.. then I lubed the latch like crazy and it's been working ever since

Tried both the above tips to no avail. Can't drive car anywhere for help as battery is flat!!!!!

I could 'nt open my bonnet on my a4.i poped down the audi garage the guy told me to push down on the bonnet as he pulled the leaver. then the bonnet released he then sprayed it with wd40 as good as new now.

There is another lever at the front of the car that you need to release too. This is to prevent the hood flying open if you accidentally pull the release while driving. After you release the latch inside the car, go to the front of the car, near the Audi rings, in the center of the grill there is a small black tab that pops out when the internal hood release is pulled. Pull up on it and the hood will open. Let us know if that works.

Front bonnet catch wont release fully,i pull lever from inside and it releases bonnet just a couple inch, then when try to lift bonnet up it wont open. regards mike, and thanks in advance

Under the car:
You will be able to open the hood if you pull off your splash guard and use a long long flat head screwdriver or something like that. You'll see the hood latch in front of the radiator with the cable attached to it at the top near the hood, put it on the drivers side edge of the bottom of the latch and pry to the passenger side, the lever moves from the drivers side to the passengers side, the cable basically pulls the top of it to achieve this. so your doing the same thing on the bottom with the screwdriver.

Release the latch from underneath by the lever that you have to pry towards the passenger side. Then open the hood, and replace the safety release mechanism broken cable.

hi, some cars have the bonnet release under the drivers steering wheel, right hand footwell, left hand foolwell some have an ignition key in the front of the grill under a flap. gerry

Try getting another person to push down above the bonnet latch as you pull the lever.They may have to push it down a few times,A sudden quick push may do it.Hope this helps

You have to pull the internal release first it is in the footwell. Otherwise anyone could open the bonnet.

Try having someone push down and/or lift on the hood while you pull the release inside the car.

CANT OPEN THE BONNET CATCH
i had this problem as well you have to get someone else to pull lever outside while you pull inside one you may have to push bonnet down at the same time once open you need to bend the lower catch back into place this happens where people do not lower bonnet and then push to shut it will keep happening if the bonnet is just dropped to shut it i talk from experience this is what i was doing and it hasent happened since

Bonnet cable snapped, need advice on how to open bonnet
Most of the time the cable snaps at the release handle. If you remove the handle and get the end of the cable, you can cut off the cable jacket and use needle nose pliers or vise grips to grab the cable and pull to release bonnet.

02 audi a4 quattro wipers won't park
If you can move the wiper arms by hand then the 13mm bolt on the motor has worked loose, remove the plastic windscreen trim under the bonnet , close the bonnet , then operate the wiper motor for 1 cycle , switch off , open the bonnet , loosen the 13 mm nut on the wiper motor , push wipers down to the park position , tighten 13mm nut up , close bonnet then check wiper operation , they should now park in the correct position .
