I tried to start the car up. Everything else works but the car won't turn over

Car turns over freely and already changed the timing chain, what else could it be??

you say everything works on the road but it just won`t start, so I am guessing you have had it run okay after the timing chain was installed. there fore it could be an ignition or fuel supply problem when trying to start. check for both to see which it is. if you have anti-theft on the car it may have activated, there will be a red light on the dash flashing while trying to start.

Why won't it run

have you checked the relay between the battery and the starter?
i had a ltd 2 that suddenly refused to start after trying everything else it turned out to be a little black box(relay) on the fender well between battery and everything else!

Possible solution - This happened to me and my battery was dead in my key fob and also I needed an ignition switch because a piece on it was broken which therefore wouldn't turn to start the engine.

i would check battery connections and test battery. a battery can have a bad cell and run lights but not have enough amps to spin a stater. if everything on battery is good i would suspect a bad starter

Figure by everything else you mean the radio,lights,etc? Is the engine turning over? What happens when the key is fully engaged? If the engine does not turn over the first place to look would be your fuses. Ensure that none look to be burnt or blown.If so replace and try again.If fuses look good Next step would be to ensure starter connection is good and starter is turning over.If the starter is not turning over then I would focus on it.Hope this helps.

If you try to start the vehicle and there is a click when you turn the key, but does not start, you may have a solenoid problem. This is usually about 3 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter and attaches to your starter. Try giving it a sharp tap with a hammer as this is often enough to loosen contact points inside.

Welcome check the battery alternator and starter for issues can you jump it to start it.

The factory security light will remain on - this is a standard feature indicating the car is dead.
First, unplug the hazard fuze in the engine bay (this will reset the ecu and remove the flashing)

Next, replace the battery with a new one (or one with proper charge) - keep in mind a small battery will not do anything for these cars, the engines require a lot to push them over (it isnt a honda)
*Make sure to clean the positive and negative battery cables from acid

Then just start it up :)
