It is under the intake manifold it is very easy to replace but it takes a while you have to disconnect the fuel lines, remove the throtle body, remove the fuel injector wiring harness, remove the pcv hose remove the 6 bolts and 4 studs that hold on the intake manifold and take off then the starter should be in plain site and all you have to do is unbolt the starter put the new one on
Starter should be under the air intake, I have the 96 4.0 and thats where my starter is at.
