  1. Turn the key to the "ON" position
  2. Press the accelerator all the way to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds
  3. You should see the oil light flash, once it stops flashing, turn the key off
  4. Wait 10 seconds before starting the vehicle, the oil light should now be reset
  5. If this doesn't reset the light, repeat steps 1-4 paying careful attention to pressing accelerator all the way to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds
Best of luck.

With this model I think you turn the key on, fully depress the gas pedal three times and then turn the key off. When I worked in the oil bay back in the day, it used to take just the right timing on the pedal, but it did work. Sometimes you might have to do it more than once.

On my 2005 Trailblazer the oil light stays on longer than the rest of the warning lights. Is this a concern?

If you live in a cold climate then oil takes longer to warm up, this may account for the time lag.if you live in a fairly warm place then the oil is getting quite thick and viscotic. This may suggest its time for an oil change including filter.if this has been recently done then it may be the oil pressure switch.also worn engines have lower compression so the oil pressure takes longer to rise.

Oil light trailblazer

Check oil pressure with a gauge. The sender is electronic and could be the issue. Also oil filter could have a bad check valve. Change the oil filter, oil and sender. If the problem is still there you have worn engine bearings and major issues are coming your way.

How do I reset oil change light

For a 2005 trailblazer to reset the oil change light you will need to make sure all doors are closed then turn key on and slowly push gas pedal to floor three times within five seconds, this must be done within 5 sec, from the time you turn key on, the key must be on so all dash light are on its right before the engine start postion, after you push gas pedal to floor three times the light will flash a few times then go out. the system is now reset, if it doesnt reset then repeat steps starting with turning the ignition on, take note engine must be off, not running, have a nice day and i hope this is helpful.

Oil pressure at 0 on 2005 trailblazer

It sure sounds like the oil sending unit is at fault, now sometimes, not always, the oil sending unit will seep oil or leak oil if they go bad,but like I said, not always, change the unit, and the oil and filter just for precaution.

Turn key to "On" position, but do not start the vehicle, press the pedal to the floor 3 times. Not fast or slow, like 1 one thousand, two one thousand... wait a few seconds, there should be an indicator/ light should go off, turn key to off position, and your good to go. Good luck :)

Try this. With the key on and the engine not running push the gas peddle to the floor and release it three times then hold it to the floor until the oil light flashes. This should reset the oil indicator light. It should not take more than about 20 or 30 seconds.Good luck.
