Jeep Grand Cherokee almost overheating!

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee about 2 days ago my oil pressure gage starrted going way up...today it was almost all the way to the "H". My temp gage is at normal level and nothing else is wrong. If I stop or take my foot off the gas it goes down considerably...What could be the problem and how can I fix it without going to repair shop (don't have the money)???

Their may be a pour blocked in the engine but this is unlikely if it is driving normaly the reason I started with this is although it is driving normally it may have an unusual ticking noise hence needs attention now!. If you don't hear a n unuasual noise from the engine then it is a worn oil switch in the engine. The oil switch has a small spring inside if the spring weakens then it takes less oil preasure to make it move. If you have changed the oil recently was it the proper grade.

Check your oil level first and make sure its at the correct level. A couple of things, if your guage is going up it's a bad guage/sending unit are easiest checks. If it goes way up while driving you probably have an oil passage blocked somewhere causing the pressure to spike maybe a spun bearing (lower motor). Does it make any rattling/knocking noise? If not I would get it checked out ASAP, low/high oul pressure can lead to severe engine damage/failure.

Check gages light is on. The oil pressure gage is reading low. Please advise

Faulty oil pressure sensor. Located on left hand side, just above the starter. Will set you back about $45--50 dls.

Oil pump issue symptoms

You can buy a oil pressure Gage from the auto parts store and check to see if it is holding pressure. Do you have a oil light come on when it does this? That's usually the back up to the Gage. Also, are you using the right type of oil? Just a thought...

Check gages on jeep grand cherokee

If your "Check Gauges" light is on, the light means pretty much whay it says...CHECK GAUGES! One or more of your gauges is/are reading outside of normal operating range. You could be having an overheating problem (Temperature gauge near or in the red) You could be having a charging system problem (Battery or Amp gauge reading in the "discharge" or "low voltage" area.) You could be nearly out of fuel (Fuel gauge reading near empty) Your oil pressure could be low (OIl Pressure gauge reading very low)....You have to look at your gauges to find out what is going on that is not normal.

Oil pressure gage at 50

if pressure is higher than what it normally is after an oil change, you may have used the wrong grade of oil (too thick). Foam could be from overfilling, or from water in the oil (maybe antifreeze getting into the oil?).
