Your nissan maxima has dual overhead cams. According to nissan all of the maximas in 1992 93 and 94 used a DOHC motor

Pretty easy to tell even without taking the valve cover off.
If it is a dual cam, then the spark plugs are lined up right down the middle, between the 2 cams.
Which is optimal.
If it is a single cam, the plugs have to be off to one side, on an angle.
Which is not as good.

How to be sure to set heads back right with compression stroke on 1994 nissan maxima

I guess you are asking how to set cam timing. If you mess this up you can do real damage, so best would be buy a cheap shop manual at parts store.

When replacing the head gaskets on a 95 Nissan maxima dual overhead can does all the timing components need to be replaced or what all needs to be replaced

Unless it has been replaced recently, I would advise changing the crank seal, cam seals, tensioner and belt, and water pump while you are there.

Can you give me steps on how to remove the cylinder heads on 91 nissan maxima 3.0 GEE dual overhead cam plz...thanks

Don't attempt it. It is not for the DIYer. There are very detailed procedures to follow and getting the timing right is is tricky. If you do attempt it buy a good manual and follow it closely.

1994 Nissan Maxima timing belt intact. Distributor rotor not spinning. What could be the cause?

Use no. 27 ring spanner to check if your pulley on the crank drives. Suspect your right cam shaft is either seized or broken.

1994 nissan maxima

You may have a loose spark plug wire or your main spark plug rotor spinner might be bad its where all the plugs join together. Left side of maxima.

Can a cam sensor cause a hard start

Yes, cam sensor can cause a hard starting condition, but not that common on a 2000 maxima. I haven't replaced single one on a 2000 Max and I have one also (maxima that is) . Never had any problem with cam or crank sensors. I think that your problem is somewhere else, like IAC valve circuit. Just a tip. Its kinda hard to diagnose something over the computer, without Consult2 (Nissan scanner) beeing hooked up to the car and seeing what the car is doing while cranking for my self.

When to change timing belt on 1996 nissan maxima

Maximas had a timig belt until 1994. Some Maximas from 1992-1994 had chains also, but only the VE30DE models. All VG30 models had timing belt. Since 1995 all maximas (A32, A33, A34 the all new A35) have timing chains and the rarely/never fail. In fact in my 12+ years with nissan, I have't seen/replaced single timing chain in a Maxima, so pretty bullet proof setup and I have had few of those cars and have one right now. Awesome cars, by the way, just keep up with the oil changes and it will run forever. One of my Maximas had 245000 miles, when I was selling it and I still see it on the road here and there. BULLET PROOF engines.
