My 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo fan is not working. The fan motor works by connecting wires to the positive and negative. Where can I find the sensor for the fan to see if this is the problem?
Replace the fan relay switch. The dealer will charge you 400 to pull the bumper off, or you can buy the part for 45 and cut the hole in the plastic near the passenger headlight assembly and replace it yourself. There are instructions for this procedure on the web somewhere. I have had this problem more than once with my 02 GC V6.
The fan relay is under the pass headlight I removed the headlight and cut a hole in the plastic to get to it. its in the middle cut about a 4 or 5 " sq the relay is right there. no need to take the front of car off. when done i just glued the plastic back and done.
Depending on where you live your local parts store usually will help you with their computer, they have pictures where the part should be,and will gladly show them to you.Dont count the dealer out,if you ask nicely most of the parts departments will help you.
