The code is for the VTEC(variable timed exhaust camshaft) oil pressure solenoid. If it is a 4 cylinder engine, the solenoid is located on the back of the cylinder head near the fuel injector rail. Most of the time you can simply clean the screen on the solenoid to cure the problem. Also, too heavy weight of oil can cause the system to malfunction. Hi:
I am assuming your rodeo has the V-6 engine, like the one I used to own. Your drain plug is located on the engine oil pan, along the rear side of the oil pan. this is located in the center of your rodeo, about 3 feet back from the bumper!
buy new oil filter, oil, and a new drain plug and gasket. the used plug is prone to leakage. remove drain plug and drain in a big enough pan for all the oil. oil filter is located on rear of engine. easier to remove from the bottom of the car. put oil on the seal of the new filter and hand tighten. replace oil plug with new gasket and plug and tighten to 33 foot pound. add oil that is required and start car. when oil light goes out shut car off and check oil add oil as needed.
You have a choice! You can use a small funnel and a narrow tube and try to fill through the dipstick tube hole or you can locate the actual fill plug and remove it to gain access to the fill hole. The plug looks like the top of a large bolt and is located on the top of the transmission aft of where the dipstick tube goes in. You will need a long funnel with a narrow opening or a tube to deliver the fluid into the hole.
