Try a good engine flush and change the oil more regularly. You can try this at your own risk: just before a oil change put half a quart of transmission fluid in the oil. Start the vehicle and let it idle for 10 to 20 minutes. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR ! If it starts tapping louder shut it off and do your oil change. See if it helps. NOTE: After doing this you should change the oil more frequently. Transmission fluid is a great cleaner and will continue breaking down contaminates which will be floating around in your oil abd blocking up your oil filter. Buy cheap oil and good filters and do this a couple times.
Do u change engine oil regular. If not lifters probably gummed up.You can get products that will quiten nousey lifters and mobile mechanics who can clean sludge from engines but if engine big mileage can cause other problems
It sounds like you may have low oil pressure which would cause your lifters to make a ticking sound, and a loss of power due to your lifters not opening your valves completely. it's a common problem on high mileage engines and can also be caused by weak lifters. good luck

I would suggest hat you replace the timing belt. The noise that you hear is the belt.

Okay, lets hope it is something simple. Remove the underhood light bulb. At night, in the dark, start the engine and look under the hood. You may be able to see sparks jumping. This would be bad wires. If you can see where the spark plugs go and one has a spark jumping it is just one bad sparkplug. Turn off car-replace underhood bulb.
If you see no sparks then it is most likely the valve train. If you have adjustable lifters they need someone to tighten them up to specifications. If they are not adjustable you may need to replace worn parts.
Make sure you keep fresh and plenty of oil in the engine. It can not repair worn parts but if the oil is low or dirty you will have bigger problems.

the BCM needs to be programmed to operate the computer. a GM techII is now required to calibrate BCM to airbag, stereo, keyless entry, and control pcm data. This is required to make it all work. a gm service should have it done within an hour or less just call and ask them how much it would be to program new BCM. it might cost @$75 to $125 but it is needed, to allow the BCM to work properly.
Testimonial: "ok...i bought the bcm on line (used)...but the gays in the dealer says i have to buy a new one..because the used cannot be to reflashed...or recoded."
