Did the mechanic adjust the fuel injector if you have noticed ?

Have you tried to hold the gas pedal to the floor ? Ford's have clear flood mode strategy programmed into the PCM , if you hold pedal to the floor the engine computer disables the fuel injectors . If it is flooded holding to the floor will clear it out .

yes, no carburetor is used, it is fuel injected! It uses a pump and injectors controled by several other electrical items.

Sounds like you might have a stuck open EGR valve. Is the check engine light on. I would replace the fuel filter if it hasn't been replaced, also check the air filter.

several things could be problem 1st check your fuel filter it is on drivers side under car should be round about 2inches around or so if its new, then could be injectors cloged up i would get lucas injector system cleaner and try it if it is electral power i would have the battery and altanator checked
