If I switch on the headlights It doesn't switch on and after a min or so it will switch on by it self and then sometimes it will switch on but after a few min it switch off.... can anyone give me advice on what to do I have looked at the relays and fuses and they is all fine
Look at the grounding point(s) as well at connector jacks. If it is a loose intermittent connection, it may show as overheated connection, arked,
Check fuse in fuse box...light fuse is loss...
The Chinese built car has a poor reputation for reliability, after sales service and the cost and availability of replacement parts, other than these things I know nothing about the vehicle.
If the manufacturer has followed the worldwide trend to completely digitise or computerise the entire car then the chances are switching on the lights merely sends a signal to a black box that you want the lights switched on and it is left to a computer to perform the necessary function - even though many of the end circuits remain recognisable, having the computers working in the background makes checking things very difficult without a wiring diagram to refer to.
If your car is digital, your description does suggest a computer glitch though some careful checking of the end circuits would probably be wise before taking it to a clever guy with a laptop and some good software.
SOURCE: No headlights, or dash lights.
check the ground cable at the battery , youll see a break in the ground wire at the battery box, check to make sure the bolt is tight and not corroded (the break is the ground for most of the lighting )
SOURCE: 1996 windstar relay
The fuel pump power on the Windstar is controlled by a component called a Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM).
Its located located on the driver's side of the engine compartment.

I had the opposite problem on a 92 and 94 chevy trucks.I had park lights but no headlights and both were solved with switch itself.

are you sure the bulbs are o.k.? if they dont work on both high and low you have ground wiring problem. ground the black wire at the plug with lights on.

I had the same problem. My local mechanic, who is quite good, replaced the CRANKSHAFT MOTION SENSOR two years ago and the problem is gone.
