SOURCE: front sidelights

Open your hood of your car. Look to where your lights are, there should be some screws you could take out and replace your light bulbs. If not, buy a owners manual and it should tell you what to do

SOURCE: no sidelights working

The 15 amp TAIL fuse is for the sidemarkers, the license plate, etc. There is a taillamp relay.
Both of these circuits are powered by the 50 amp AM1 fuse.

The fog lights are powered by the 15 amp FR FOG fuse.

The inst panel is powered by 3 fuses: 7.5 amp GAUGE, 15 amp DOME and 7.5 ECU-B.

Please check all of these, and if they are all good, please get back to me for more info.
Hope this helps.

Where is fuse for rear right running light ?

Not usually fused separately - usual practice is to fuse the front and rear parking or sidelights left and right. Generally if a fuse fails both front and rear sidelights go out on one side

When a lone taillight fails to work it is generally the fault of the bulb, bulbholder, ground or supply wiring but read the vehicle handbook or check the wiring diagram before becoming too involved.

Rear driver side running light is not working, but the brake and rear turn signal are working. I have replaced bulb and checked the wiring.

check the front light on the same side is working as their is a fuse for either side of the sidelights .failing which i would need a play as this vehicle isnt wired to europeon standard and uses them funny american electrics with a big stop light switch that interferes with the brake light for the indicator so i would need a play to determine the exact cause ,have you checked the bulb holder ??

1997 passat sidelight fault

The problem is likely in the headlight switch--either a failing contact or perhaps an issue with the connector at the switch. see wiring diagram below.
