Have a 2008 SRX. Can't get oil filter cap loose to change filter. Have put a large amount of force on it but won't budge. Afraid to put anymore for fear of breaking housing then I'm in deep dung. Any suggestions.

May want to try a longer handle ratchet or breaker bar. Also use a six point socket its less likely to round off the cap.

AC tried that but it wouldn't budge. Didn't want to break it as would have no transport. Thinking maybe impact wrench? I get the feeling last time oil was changed before we bought it someone may have been being a jacka&$ and put it on with lock tite and an impact.

SOURCE: Replace lighting behind the heater controls

Yeah , something would have broke for real had you pried it any more.
There is a bulb just below the control panel that lights the panel up... and more screws to remove to access it. The ones behind the knobs need to be replaced ( they hold the switches to the face plate), and you need to unscrew the ones behind the trim and above the ash tray.
The trim comes off in one piece (held by clips).

SOURCE: Major oil leak after oil change

Your filter was installed either without the rubber seal, or the seal wasn't lubed before installation and it slipped, causing an improper seal. You will have to drain the oil again, remove the filter, and make sure it is reinstalled with a proper seal.

SOURCE: 2008 nissan armada oil change

Not unless you can reach it from the top. make sure you put some WD-40 on the bolts so they come off easy next time.

SOURCE: wheel stuck on hub won't come off.

That kind of thing happens a lot and I work in a auto-shop. The corrosion builds up on the hub and swells up in the middle of the rim. 1. Put all lugnuts back on, leave them half way off. 2.Keep kicking the tire from the backside until it pops off the hub. Don't worry, you can't damage the rim by kicking it yourself. (Unless your the incredible hulk.lol ) The lugnuts will keep the tire from falling on the brake components when it comes off the hub.

SOURCE: where is the oil filter located on a cadillac srx

Directly under the engine. You'll see a large smooth portion under there that looks like the underside of a bath tub and on the lowest portion of that is a bolt. Thats your oil reservoir where you drain your oil. The filter should be located near that pointing toward the front of the vehicle. GM OEM filters are usually black but could be white and are almost always 3" filters so a filter wrench that fits a 3" filter will get it off without problem.

My 2008 H3 hummer seems to being oil. My service temp light comes on and temperature gage starts to rise. It also is giving off smell like burning rubber and at times smells like rotten eggs. What wou

Rotten egg smell is your cateladic converter... part of your exhaust pipe... should go away in a month.... the smoke coming from your oil is natural... as the oil heats up it can smoke a little... kind of a wisp... anymore then that you should get it checked.... park the rig on a large white sheet and check in a day for oil spots, if you see some isolate the area, a lot of times it can come from a loose oil filter, or oil plug but some times it comes from a worn seal. also check that the pvc valve isn't worn.... then if they are all ok I would be thinking the engine is burning it...ps. it is important to use the right weight of oil for the temperature... too thin burns off, too thick over works the oil pump and rings on the piston. stay away from the cleaners unless you are changing the oil, I use a product called sea foam personally. Good luck

How to get radiator cap off when stuck or was put on wrong

Use some large jawed pliers, like channel-lock pliers, on the side of the cap turning it counter-clockwise, while pressing down real hard on the cap. Normally, you have to press down, sometimes really hard, and turn the cap back by hand. If it\'s tighter than that, it\'s okay to put a pair of pliers on it and force it off. You will want a new radiator cap anyway.

Hi I just have a question about my 2005 Cadillac srx. I am trying to find the engine oil filter, can you please tell me where that is located in my car? I am also wondering how to open the plastic cover of...

Hello: To remove engine cover, remove oil fill cap and possibly power steering cap then pull up on the cover. on the driver side front side of engine you will see a large nut attached to a cover. Remove that cover and the filter is in the cavity. The filter is a paper element. Not the can type.

Where is oil drain plug on 2005 V8 SRX caddilac

crawl under the car with a drain contaner and a cresent wrench. Under the engine is the oil pan. The drain plug is located on the bottom end or slightly above on the side. It may be covered in dirt so scrap around. It has to be there. No other place for the oil to come out. It is possable it is a plug type with a large allen wrench hole or a squar hole that a ratchet will fit in to but most of them it is a bolt type. Don't forget to change the oil filter when changing oil. Let me know if this helps, The Raz
