SOURCE: 1999 Ford F-450 7.3 diesel

It is most likely fuel heater in bottom of filter housing. Unplug it on backside of housing and reinstall good fuse and see if it quits blowing. If so, updated fuel heater availible through Ford.

SOURCE: 1999 f350 diesel engine shut down, turns over but

that fuse powers pcm fuel heater and some other things. when the fuse blows the pcm shuts down. causing it to not run. usually its the heater that is bad. it is located at the back driver side by the fuel pump. you can unplug it and see if it starts. if so you will need to replace the heater

SOURCE: Blowing ECM-B fuses

The ECM-B fuse is a 20 amp fuse, and you should NEVER put a larger fuse in to try to overcome any problem. The oil pressure switch is a secondary concern; there is an idiot light or oil pressure guage in the dash to alert you to oil pressure problems. Under heavy load, such as towing, your engine requires more fuel, and if your fuel pump is going/has gone bad, it cannot supply the demand.
The problem is almost certainly a fuel pump wire harness short, caused by a dying fuel pump. I have both had this problem myself, and repaired it on three other vehicles. On my vehicle, the wire harness had welded itself together when the fuel pump locked up, and the wire harness caught on fire.
The fuel pump is in the gas tank (of course my tank was full), and the tank has to be dropped to access it. The wire harness is modular, with plugs at both ends, and can be bought from the Chevrolet or GMC dealer.
If you put an incorrectly-rated fuse anywhere in your vehicle's electrical system, the WORST place to do it is where you have--the fuel pump circuit. Fuses blow for a reason, and the manufacturer's engineers properly size the fuses for the application at hand. Please don't do that again.
This can be a very dangerous problem and repair, and no, it is not cheap.
Do not attempt to operate this vehicle until you have had the problem properly corrected. Good luck.

check the battery cables for wear and make sure they aren't grounding out on the frame you have a direct short and that is more than likely where it is

I have a 2008 harley davison heritage softail Blow the ignition fuse. Got it home the next day it ran fine Went to auto parts to git fuse Came back put one in works Started it up 12 or more times...

i9ndicates that you have dead short problem in a component in the ignition system
could be a bad ground causing excessive current ( arcing) when component is moved or wiring moved
maybe an auto bike auto electrician could pinpoint the problem area
possible a voltage control problem causing excessive current through the fuse , intermittently causing it to blow
Again a bad ground in regulator problem

Keeps blowing auto shut down fuse as soon as key is turned on

Could be several things including one of the oxygen sensors, one of the injectors, the coils, or the engine computer.
You will probably need to get a shop manual to get all of the wiring diagrams connected with that circuit. And I would suggest you use a circuit breaker to check each one instead of fuses.
You'll have to disconnect each component until you find the short.

I have a 02 grand caravan, there is a fuse call asd keeps on blowing

This fuse is the Automatic Shut Down fuse. If you are blowing this fuse you are pulling too much current on the critical engine circuit that it is protecting. This is many times caused by a short circuit in the wiring harness. This can be time consuming and difficult to track down.

2008 Ford F450 fuel pump relay fuse keeps blowing.

the fuel pump and radio are not on the same circuit, most liokely the fuel pump is shorted, that is the most common cause, get under the truck and disconnect the fuel pump connector at the tank, if the fuse doesn't blow then u need a new pump.

Engine meter fuse keeps blowing

dead short, intermittant (caused by engine movement possibly) To trace cause without schematic not to tuff. the IDEA (theory) is to disconnect the loads on that line until your short doesnt happen (engine stays running) start with the AC compressor. Also use your 5 senses at chk out where those wires pass thru grommets and holders, look for wire coverings that are discolored/worn thru frayed

2000 dodge pickup cummins diesel blows fuse when i turn key to start it.

Unplug the engine shut down solanoid and try it again. the solanoid is on the left side of the engine and has a three wire connector going to it. just unplug it and replace the fuse. the engine should crank over but not start- but most importantly the fuse shouldn't blow. if this doesn't work then you could have a bad spot in the harness. the fuse only blows in the start position cause the shut down soanoid energizes an extra coil in the start position to pull it in. this could have nothing to do with your problem but as an ex-komatsu field tech. that HAD to get a machine running or have a mad operator/owner i have figured alot of these out as there are cummns' in almost everything.
there is more to this but i don't know if i'm already over your head. request a response from me if ya want/need more info.. - good luck
