IMPORTANT: Before entering programming mode, have in possession all of the transmitters you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the transmitter, all previous codes will be erased from the memory. The other transmitters will not be functional until you program the transmitters again.
Close and lock all doors with the driver's side power lock/unlock switch.
Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds. Your Hazard Lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder each time. If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.
Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ACC position.
Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the remote transmitter. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. NOTE: Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.
If there are any remaining transmitters (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the driver's side power lock/unlock switch and within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. Repeat this step for each transmitter (including any existing transmitters).
Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition,
unlock doors using the driver's side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.
Could be a security problem, or neutral safety switch. A mechanic would check for voltage at the solenoid with the key switch in the start position and work back to the battery. Could also be a ground problem.
is it automatic or manual?? need to know. It may by your ignition switch it self. not the part where you put the key. there is a electrical switch inside otf the ifnition switch which could be faulty. is it auto or manual??
IF YOU GOT 2 SETS OF KEYS TRY ANOTHER IGNITION KEY.THAT NOT WORN.TURN ON IGNITION FOR 5 SECONDS.SWITCH THE IGNITION OFF.WAIT APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS.SWITCH IGNITION ON FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS.SWITCH IGNITION OFF.WAIT APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS.START ENGINE.IF STARTS OTHER KEY WAS WORN.IF CAR STILL DONT CRANK.THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACE KEYS AND ANTI THEFT SYSTEM AND REPROGRAM TO CRANK.ALSO CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE NEUTRAL START BACK UP LIGHT SWITCH IS WORKING.IF FAULTY IT WILL ALSO CAUSE NO START PROBLEMS.
If there is no original remote try to find a switch that may be hidden but accessible from the drivers seat, if the alarm is no longer needed find an auxilliary wire that may be on the battery or the fuse panel, if original there may be a fuse under the hood, pull the fuse and it should disable the alarn system.
The best way is to use a scan tool to clear the codes, that will turn off the light, also disconnecting the battery over night may work, but no completely sure about that, it varies from year to year.
