My a/c and my ciggarette lighter worked intermittently for a few days and now the a/c does cool at all, my front parking lights have also stopped working. this all started just days after I had my a/c tested and charged.

It is probably associated with some interior group, such as glove box or something. Usually something else will not work when the lighter blows. If its still working..plug in something with a light..then one by one pull an interior item fuse...youll soon know.

Check the fuses. The charts and diagrams are in the owners manual, if you don't have that you can download it HERE

Hi, you have to replace the cigarette lighter fuse....

Get a test light and since your down at the fuse box and car is new to you check them all and replace all bad ones. its faster that way and you will have a peace of mind.

Sounds like maybey someone has replaced the lighter before, and has somehow tied the ground wire into the headlight switch. Short of going through the wiring harness between the lighter and switch, I would just say run a new ground wire and get a fuse tap for the power. This will completely isolate the lighter from the rest of the electrical system. Let me know if this helps :)

Your post is just a tad bit confusing. In most cars these days they have a ciggarette lighter as well as a power port or two.

Is your cigarette light port and your power port, in your eyes, the same thing? If yes, and you've checked the fuse and "it appears to be fine" then I would say that you have a short in your wiring that for some reason isn't tripping the fuse. Unlikely though.

I believe in one car I worked on had two different fuses that went to the ciggarette ligher. Maybe just maybe you have a few different fuses running your ports and you checked some of the fuses but not all of them.

Most cars have fuse boxes in the following locations: Engine Bay, Glove Box, Drivers or passengers side kick panel, trunk.

The most likely spots to check for a fuse box is to the left of your legs while sitting in the drivers seat and underneath the hood.

2 fuses to check in the interior fuse panel no 39 and no 41 both are 20 amp fuses.

look in they cig lighter they somtine collect coins or metal object that would short them out
and yes you can disconnect it and should find the problem.
i have also found shorted horns . but this should blow the fuse only when you push the horn button
