It could just be a corroded or broken wire is the interior light on ? This will happen because when you close the door the ground needed to close the circuit is not there and this is plugged into the door lock mechanism so take off the door panel and investigate the inside search for the plug and wire to the actual door mechanism lock that grabs the pin on the trucks body also check that door post lock pin it's supposed to have a plastic/nylon bushing on it if it's broken the door is not closed all the way and the ground between the door and body isn't made try pushing in on the door also to see if it goes off the door post pin might be loose and moved causing the connection break so go slowly and take the time to investigate properly but most likely it's corrosion or the door post pin on the body good luck Stephen

Testimonial: "Turned out to be a broken wire in the door harness."

  • stephen peirce May 21, 2019

Well that was the first thing I mentioned a corroded or broken wire and the others I said were the other possible causes it's great that it's fixed now and you can go back to happy cruising

  • stephen peirce May 21, 2019

Because I'm not there to check myself I must cover the bases for all causes so eventually you can get to the fix Hooray! I did it again and in bronx English it's look what I done good luck stephen

SOURCE: Remove F150 door panel

They Are NO Fun thats for Sure There is a TOOL For the SNAP-ON Plugs on sides and Bottom, But the Top From Handle Up, there are A number of hidden HIDDEN Screws, at times with Interior Matching PLUG COVERS that Must be REMOVED to Gain Access to the Screws. It is TEEDIOUS and Nerv Racking to Remove Them But Just Have A GOOD EYE For the Fasteners and You Will Do Fine with it.

SOURCE: my door ajar light stays on in my ford f150 king

Have you tried WD-40 in the door latch ? Some times the contacts in the door latch get gummed up, and the door switch stops working. A good soaking on the door latch, and close / open a few times and another soaking of WD-40 usually does the trick with the door latch switch.

SOURCE: Rear power window, power pedals, driver power seat

Check for a bad splice in the driver's side door sill.
The SuperCrew the splice is generally a purple wire back by the C-pillar, and looks to be wrapped in a tape that looks like hockey tape. Should have signs of water damage.

If you did not have the rear slider issue, I would have thought VSM ( Vehicle Security Module ) ground missing. The VSM is mounted behind the rear seat back ( need to remove the seat to get to it to check ).

1999 Ford Explorer,Door ajar light & Chime goes on & off while driving, int lights & auto headlights won't shut off after car off & all doors closed.

Your best bet would be to find a Tech like this guy , with the right diagnostic equiment . Door Locks Go Crazy 1 Unless you know how to do automotive electrical testing . Your door ajar switch is a input to a body control module . or GEM as ford calls thiers .
Door Locks Go Crazy 2 Your auto lights are controlled pretty much the same .
Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know

Do you know what DTC"S are ? diagnostic trouble codes ! You probably have a door ajar switch problem . You need a factory or professional type scan tool to check these codes
B1322 Door Ajar Driver Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . B1323 Door Ajar Lamp Circuit Failure GEM/CTM REFER to Section 413-01 . B1325 Door Ajar Lamp Circuit Short to Battery GEM/CTM REFER to Section 413-01 . B1330 Door Ajar RF Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . B1334 Decklid Ajar Rear Door Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . B1338 RR Door Ajar Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . B1340 Chime Input Request Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM GO to Pinpoint Test C .
  • The Autolamps Are On Continuously
  • Circuitry.
  • Headlamp relay.
  • Light sensor amplifier.
  • Go To Pinpoint Test H .
  • The Autolamp Time Delay Is Inoperative
  • Fuse(s).
  • Light sensor amplifier.
  • Headlamp switch.
  • Circuitry.
  • VERIFY parking lamp operation. If OK, REPLACE the light sensor amplifier. If any parking lamp concerns exist, Parking, Rear and License Lamps REFER to Parking, Rear or License Lamps.

Do you see how complex these systems can be for someone that doesn't deal with these problems on a daily base's ! Check for codes an if there are any , doing the diagnostic's associated with it . Without doing the diagnostic's you could replace parts all day long an not fix the problem .

My passenger side door censor always says the door is ajar?

Is the door a jar? If so then it is working just fine. Otherwise I would buy a new sensor, or switch, at a ford dealer and put it in. Most likely it is the same part as the door interior light switch, and snaps in and out with a small wiring harness connector. Then it will not tell you that the door is a jar anymore.

Need to locate door ajar curcuit on 2002 F150 Super Crew

The door ajar wire is the Black w/ Pinks tripe wire, on the SuperCrew the driver's door is solo, and the other 3 are are in the same input to the GEM.

The passenger's side kick panel ( the plastic that covers the Fuel inertia switch ) is a connector C206, right above C203. There is another smaller looking connector above C206, and some small 2 pin ones shown back there, along with 2 ground lugs in the side of the cab sheet metal.

C206 is a square 16 pin connector, 4 pins by 4 rows.
C203 is also a square 16 pin connector, 4 pins by 4 rows.

The higher of the 2 connectors is the one you want, the Black w/ Pink stripe wire is in the outside column, 2nd to the last from the side farthest from the tab.
Looking at the connector with the tab on the top, the outside column should be ( from tab end ) :
pin #1 : Dark Green w/ Orange Stripe
pin #5 : White w/ Light Green stripe
pin #9 : Black w/ Pink Stripe <- This is the one for all 3 doors
pin #13 : ( bottom ) White w/ Light Blue stripe wire

The connector is numbered on the top row, under the tab ( that is why the pin #s are spaced out reading down the column ).

The wire in the door is in a loom, it is coming from the door latch ( that is where the switch is at ), so it might not be obvious.
It should not be in the connector for the door lock switch ( that is Pink w/ Black stripe wire, not the same ).

Door ajar dash trouble and dome light stays on even if all doors

The door sensors will need to be replaced. A screws can be removed and then a wire can be taken of and you then can replace the switch.

Door ajar

If spraying WD40 into the latch didn't fix it then it has to be a bad switch or wiring to the switch.
You will have to pull door panel/s to access them and check them from here.I would probably start at drivers door since it usually has the most use.
Pull panel and look at the latch and you will see a 2 wire connector to it drivers side wire will be LG/YE and BK,passenger door is PK/LB and BK and if it is a crew cab rear doors are in series right side is GY/OG and BK/WH which this wire feeds the switch in left rear and other wire on drivers side is BK.
Disconnect the connector and see if light goes out. That will be the bad one. then you have to remove the latch to replace the switch.
