SOURCE: 1990 montero no start. No power to open injectors, good fuel pump

Check the injector pulses with an osciliscope. If you arent getting a pulse check the ecu. I have cooked 2 of them. One killed my ignition but had good fuel. the second time it wouldnt open the injectors but had good spark. A quick check is to take the ecu out and take the cover off. then look for burnt electrical components.

SOURCE: Vehicle dies while driving down the road.

could it be the A/C pump kicking in. might be boging down the motor or electrical circuit, not letting the injectors get enough power. This could happen if the bearings are going bad in th A/C pump or there is a short in it. Just an idea. sounds like you have done the main components.

SOURCE: Cranks won't start/ distributor is turning/ have

have your already check the high tension wire and the distributor cap maybe the contacts have corrosion in it. Try cleaning it with a sand paper of the contact point on the distributor if you have.

Audi A3 2.0 FSI 2004 I leave the car overnight, the engine turns over but will not fire up. However. a quick spray of "Easy Start", and the engine starts and will start every time that day

Fuel pressure regulator may be going bad. It's supposed to hold pressure in the fuel rail while the engine is shut down. When cranking, the fuel pump has to build pressure again before the injectors will properly inject fuel. Try turning the key on (without cranking) for about five seconds, then back off. Do this two or three times, then try to start the engine. If it starts right away, you need a fuel pressure regulator. These can be located on the fuel rail, or in/on the fuel tank.

Cranks but wont start. Fuel is good, spark is good, new starter, new ignition coil on no.5

Is the fuel good or is the fuel pressure good?
How did you check for spark - are you certain it's firing the plug?
Why was the starter replaced?
What is the condition of the spark plugs?
Did you have a check engine light?

Quatroporte IV 1995 dont start

Check for fuel to the engine first. If there is a pressure test port on the fuel line, turn ignition key to start and let it crank for jsut a second- this will pressurize the fuel line on fuel injected engines. Remove cap from that port and carefully press the tiny button in the center- if you get fuel- check iginition system for spark. If you do not get fuel, check to make sure the fuse to the fuel pump is good and that the wiring to the pump is also good. If you can, check for voltage at the fuel pump. 11.5 volts or higher is fine. If you have voltage and no fuel- replace fuel pump.

For no spark condition, check wiring to the distributor and ignition coil, and check fuses. If you crank the engine in the dark, if there is arcing in the high tension coil or discharging to ground, it will be visible in the dark. Those parts that arc should be replaced. If it has not had a tuneup, replace distributor cap and rotor inside. It may simply be a matter of never having a tuenup. If still no spark, test and/or replace igniter/ignition module and check wireso of the pickup portion of the sytem in the distributor. replace if broken..

I have a 1988 ranger no spark no fuel pressure iv replace the coil what could the issue be

Is it Fuel injection and electronic ignition, or still distributor and carb?
if its FI, check the fuel relay, located in the fuse box usually, not sure where for your truck specifically, but if you locate it, tap on it a few times while someone else cranks the truck, also, the fuel pump could be faulty, can you hear the winding noise when you turn on the ignition, if not, then pump is gone.
The spark issue is a tricky one since you said you have replaced the coil... spark wires ok? coil installed properly? battery charged and leads tight? alternator working? if alternator is failing to charge the battery, then it gets to a point where you dont have enough power to make the coil spark, the engine will crank, but not enough current (amps) to fully charge coils to deliver healthy spark.

Good luck...

Car stalled at30mph and wont start back up

  • Cranks but no start condition-do below to determine whether it's fuel or spark issue:
  • Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.
make sure it is getting enough gas pressure

Audi 100s 1993 cranks doesn,t start, turns over no start. when it starts runs rough and stalls.

could very well be a faulty sensor, leaky vaccum hose, bad coil packs, needing of new fuel filter, spark plugs, wires.

Have you checked your fuel pressure to make sure it is good. You can do this with fuel pressure tester on the fuel rail.

Also check every cylinder for spark
If you don't have any spark, or very weak spark, you could have bad coil pack, module, or crank sensor.

You can remove one plug at a time, and place it back on plug wire, place it on top of engine block, have someone else turn motor over well you observe to see if there is spark.

Do you have a service or check engine light on? If so, I would have the engine codes read to pinpoint exact problem area.

Let me know if you have any questions or need further help

1996 Nissan Sentra doesn't have sparks

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, to my understanding, 1995 to 1997 Sentras share the same ECU (except the '97 1.6L). Below ECU pin configuration may be of help.

Additionally, depending on the regional version that you have, the '96 Sentra may be sharing the same electronic ignition with an Altima. If so, this might interest you.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
