2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. Obd 2 tool will not come on. When I put a new fuse in at the cigar port, smoke comes out from under dash. Wires probably fused together. I can do without cigar port, but how do I find the wires to ecm so I can rerout omitting the cigar lighter?

If all of those are blown, you are in for a whole lot of heartache! Cigarette lighter overloaded, easy fix. Blower motor, probably the resistor, fairly easy fix if you can get to it. Windows, relays, or if only on drivers side, broken wires where door meets frame.

OBD port connector ? Under the steering column area left or right of the column .

SP205 is a splice pack , taped to the wiring harness behide the dash near the OBD connector .

My OBD will not power up ? Code reader , scan tool ????? .Pin #16 at the OBD connector should have B+ voltage .This is what supply's B+ voltage to the scan tool / code reader . What makes you think you need a computer ? The computer doesn't supply B+ voltage to that OBD port ,.Do you know where the i/p fuse box is ? You want the CIGAR/DLC /APO FRT fuse 20amp . The other wires you mention above , don't mess with those . Those are the class 2 data bus wires .Screw with those and short one out , you will never get your vehicle started . Suggets you google GM class 2 serial data bus communications .

Usually behind the glove box, under the dash drivers side, or on one end of the dash visible with the door open.

Follow the 2 wires back from the motor under the dash. The speed controller is the fault. It's default when it fails will allow for high speed operation only. The unit that the 2 wires come from is the controller. Replace that unit.

clean the computer lead interface. my buddies car did the same thing, we cleaned the computer leads with a good eletronic spray cleaner and it fixed the problem.

located under dash next to blower motor itself should be a couple of wires plugged into it
