My Isuzu 4JK1 is not idling and it has hard starting

I only use quick start spray to start but its not idling

OPERATION The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve controls the engine idle speed and dashpot functions. The valve is located on the throttle body on. This valve allows air to bypass the throttle plate. The amount of air is determined by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and controlled by a duty cycle signal. Fig. 1: Cleanable IAC valve — 5.0L engine version shown, others similar 88484g22.gif

  1. Make sure the ignition key is OFF.
  2. Disconnect the air control valve.
  3. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the terminals of the valve solenoid. NOTE: Due to the diode in the solenoid, place the ohmmeter positive lead on the VPWR pin and the negative lead on the ISC pin.
  4. If the resistance is not 7–13 ohms, replace the air control valve.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the engine wiring to the IAC sensor.
  3. Remove the two retaining screws for the valve.
  4. Remove the IAC valve and discard of the old gasket. Fig. 2: Disengage the idle air control solenoid electrical connection 88485p12.jpg

    To install:
  5. Clean the area of old gasket material.
  6. Using a new gasket, attach the IAC valve to the engine. Tighten the retaining screws to 71–102 inch lbs. (8–12 Nm).
  7. Connect the IAC valve wiring to the unit.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.

SOURCE: My 1990 volvo automatic will not start unless I spray the air inlet valve with Quick Start. What is the cause of this problem? will continual usage of the quick start spray have a damaging effect on

Have you check the gas line filters or the fuel pressure and also try turning the key on and off two or three times before trying to start

What vehicle is this for? Do you have any warning lights on the dash? When running does it run smoothly or lumpy?
This will probably be a fuel supply or spark problem. Has it been serviced recently?
Get the ignition timing checked as well as the injectors, (or carburetor), checked for faults.

Condensation under the distributor cap from the hot steam is causing it not to start. Remove the cap, dry it best you can with a paper towl and then spray some contact cleaner or starting fluid in the cap to finish drying it out. The spray will dry quickly then replace the cap and start your engine.

2008 Isuzu dtec d/cab. As soon as I start it have to start it again. When rev'ed up to 2000 RPM, take foot of pedal it dies. After service, it will be fine for a while then it starts again.

Sounds like maybe air in fuel system, bleed fuel system and try.

What are the head torque settings of the 4jk1 engine in the Isuzu kb250dteq?

what car. ? KB250 sounds Australian? is it? we cant guess country
South Africa?
4JK1-TCX (this engine?) (google searches do little there , zero)

A pickup truck.with 2.5L diesel. with direct injection?
and our books (this is USA forum) dont cover AUZ cars.
what year.? 2007 to now? (but what?)

the data of all cars. are indexed by
year, make and model and engine name 4jk1-tcx)
so we cant help you , lacking those facts.
we cant look it for you.
why not stated, country. first. then full engine name. all letters.

what if?
and what if they changed to TTY bolts, in say 2008,..
so what is TTY, its torque to yield. (use one time)
or the changed from KG torque, to degree's from hand tight. methods, and he pattern , do you need the pattern to torque, sure.

Engine is dying on idle


quick test , replace a piece of the fuel line with a clear plastic one, chaeck for air bubbles especially with less than half tank
