SOURCE: where crank shaft and camshaft?

Hi I have a 2002 altima and I just fixed all that stuff. The crankshaft sensor is a different sensor and located in a different place. The crankshaft pos. sensor is located in back of the motor next to the firewall maybe half way down toward the driver side. there was a few tricks to getting to it and replacing it that no one mentioned it but I got it down. I replaced it 3 or for times till I got the right one so I was able to do the whole thing in about 15 min at the end. if you still need help email me, its kinda easy once you know what youre looking for!

SOURCE: locating and replacing a camshaft sensor in a 2005 dodge neon

this is a very very simple procedure. you do not need pics. there is a sensor located at the end of the engine on the far side from the belts. at the top. it has a plug with two wires in it. just remove the two 10mm bolts un hook the plug and reverse the process to reinstall. if you have a factory intake you may have to remove it to access this sensor. just the intake tube.

SOURCE: code reads P0340 Camshaft position Sensor circuit

That makes the computor think the timing is off. Replace the sensor and see if that does it. You will then have to have the code cleared (erased) or the light will come back on/stay on.

2005 dodge magnum hemi po340 code changed camshaft sensor still wont crank

The code that came up is for a camshaft sensor. The cam sensor usually controls injector pulse. Pick up a noid light at your local parts store which should be very cheap. Connect noid light to plug at injector and crank vehicle. If the noid light lights up, then you know that you are getting a signal to injectors and your cam sensor is working. If it doesn't light up, it's possible that your new part can be defective ( it is possible). Because you have a Chrysler product and a no start condition, check to see if you have spark causing the no start. If you have no spark, check your crankshaft sensor. Chrysler products are known for crank sensors to go bad. If you have spark, further testing is required. I hope this helps and have a great day.

I have a 2005 dodge ram 5.7 hemi i have changed spark plugs, wires and crank shaft positioning cencer and the check engine light still comes on used a diagnostic and code po300 comes up random multiple...

I had the same problem and replaced the Crank sensor with one from the auto parts store, it lasted a month, then failed. Then I got a sensor from DODGE (dealer) and no more problems. The perameters for those sensors that come from the autoparts store are such that they fit a veriety of vehicles. The one you get from your local dealer is more specific to your vehicle. When this sensor malfunctions, it can created multiple trouble codes, but it's a single fix. Also check that your wires are routed correctly.

Where Do I start with a P0016 code on my 2005 Dodge neon (2.0L)

P0016-CRANKSHAFT/CAMSHAFT TIMING MISALIGNMENT
Does the car run? If it doesnt run it may have slipped time.If it does run, use a scope if available and check for a weak or erratic signal from the cam and crank sensors. The cam sensors routinely go out on these cars but a bad crank sensor can cause the code also.

YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO REPLACE CRANK SENSOR .WITCH IS ABOUT 80 BUCKS AT THE LOCAL AUTO STORE SUCH AS ADVANCED AUTO OR AUTO ZONE . BOTH CAM SHAFT SENSOR AND THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE DODGE STRATUS. GOOD LUCK. KENNY
