Check the fuse to the injector. If it is out or got wet, it could mimic these conditions. let me know what happens. I have an 85 model.

SOURCE: how to change rear air suspension on 1999 ford

The air suspension can be a tricky thing to mess with. When we were looking to replace just one of the rear bags it was going to be costly. My husband did some checking around online and found Strutmasters.com.
They offered great products at a great price and we were very pleased with the outcome of the replacement of the non air system. If you are replacing the entire system you are looking at a pretty penny. I would check Strutmasters out before you replace the air on your Expedition.

13 kia optima . im getting about 16 miles per gallon

You didn't mention where you are - under good conditions you should expect around 35 miles per US gallon for highway driving and around 24 in town. A US gallon is smaller than the Imperial gallon.

If you are principally highway driving, your car is probably using double the fuel it should and if it isn't leaking somewhere, the engine must be running so rich it could hardly be running smoothly and that must be causing damage - increasing engine wear and damaging the O2 sensors and the CAT and possibly fouling the spark plugs...
I expect the performance is also way down...
The most surprising thing is you aren't also complaining the check engine or other light is on - you aren't so maybe it isn't? You didn't mention any of this sort of stuff so maybe it is running ok?

I suggest you check your fuel system for leaks as a matter of urgency and then perform an accurate fuel consumption check and post again.

My 2003 ford expedition service engine light is on an the code is reading p1132 what is wrong

Hello,
P1132 = Lack of HO2S11 switch. sensor indicates rich.
The HO2S11 is the upstream oxygen sensor. ( upstream meaning it's before the catalytic converter.)
This sensor is telling the ECM, ( electronic control module ), to increase the fuel, which is why it's indicating RICH. ( the fuel/air mix ratio should be 1 part fuel, 14.7 parts air )
The most common reason for your issues are the following.
1. Dirty air filter.
2. Faulty/dirty idle air control valve.
3. Faulty/dirty MAF, ( mass air flow ), sensor.
Until you're able to get this fixed, you are going to get poor fuel efficiency

I hope this helps you.
Thanks, Donnie

My expedition is a 5.4 two wheel drive eddie bauer the problem i "m having with it is that it started to waste more gas now. I get only ten miles to the gallon and before i would get about twelve...

The tune-up is a Fred Flintstone term,
meaning you got spark plugs or payed
for them and got nothing

You need new spark plugs
You need 2 new front O2 Sensors, if you
have 100,000 miles on them
You need the MAF Sensor Cleaned
A Clean Air filter
Correct fuel pressure
A properly working TPS Sensor
(throttle position sensor)
And other items.

See if you have all that done, and get back
I will evaluate your issues.

Do you have check lights on the dash
If so give us the codees

My 2001 Ford Expedition is guzzling gas like no other. I have had a tune up, new tires and oil change. But I am still getting about 12 miles per gallon is there anything that I can do to get more MPG?

I have a 99 explorer with V8 that runs great! and I get
a whopping 13mpg. But it has high miles. So I was
going to change the catalytic converters as they may
have started to plug up. And any exaust restriction
will drop your mpg, even a bent tailpipe will cause a
drop. There are other possible reasons for this, such as the o2 sensor sending a signal to the pcm calling
for a more fuel rich, air fuel mix than neccesary. Or
the temp sensor failing to signal that the engine is
at operating temp, and stays to some degree in cold
start mode. But either of these conditions would be
noticed through dtc codes- a smell or engine performence. I hope I was of some help.
Good luck.

What controls how to make it not run so rich? sometimes it only gets 5 miles to a gallon of gas. Then it will run just fine for a while

YOUR AIR MASS SENSOR CAN OR YOUR OXYGEN SENSORS WILL DO IT OR U MAY JUST NEED A COMPLETE TUNE UP WOULD TRY REPLACING OXYGEN SENSORS AND GIVING IT A COMPLETE TUNEUP

My 351 is running rich

use the air and gas flow adjustments on the side of the carburator to adjust the rich/lean flow of gas. there is a srew on each side of the carb to adjust one is for air the other for fuel. the one on the driversside is for the fuel and the one on the passenger side is for air. you have to turn them slowly til you get the desired results
