2005 Honda Pilot. The new key works in the door but not in the ignition. Thinking it needs a new ignition switch. Any ideas on cost or a solution?
If the key fits mechanically, and the lock turns, then the key has been cut correctly. However if it just won't start the vehicle, then the transponder chip within the key will need programming. The dealer should have the equipment to do this. Do not accept a key that does not start the car - and certainly don't pay unless it does.
Does the key turn the switch, if it does but no start it is because of the security chip in the key handle... needs factory key complete with circiut board... please rate my help...
