Today my 1990 QX4 Infiniti SUV started sputtering and dying I think my partner may have messed with something cuz I don't know anything about cars but we're in the middle possibly separating and it's our car together he took the fuel filter off and put one his mother gave him from her race car which that sounds like it shouldn't work but like I said I don't know anything about cars I have read that it's probably the spark plugs are oxygen sensor but if anyone can help that would be awesome it literally just starts up and sputters out when you push the gas

First you wanna know where this problem is coming from. 1,check battery to make sure the cells are holding the change, if not then you need new battery If battery is good then something from the car is draining battery. Could be alternator, could be your stereo , ????
I had the same problem with my 2001 Infiniti QX 4. A common problem with the with these cars is the rear sway bar bushings go out causing it. To do that I would suggest just replacing the sway bars entirely cuz it's easier than replacing the bushings because the new sway bars come with new bushings that way you don't have to press out the old ones and press in the new ones
