Hi Raymond Yea! ABS & Traction control on a modern car can be more trouble than they are worth sometimes. I have some not so fond memories of this..... I was sideswiped by a drunk driver and ran through the bush into a small ravine and the vehicle flipped & crashed. All because the ABS wouldn't allow braking on dirt/gravel. The cop told me that they often disable this by removing the Fuse when they are on their driver training track. You will need a fuse description for your particular vehicle to isolate the so called "smart" traction control.
under the bonnet on the radiator is an automatic fan, now if the radiator is low or you need to replace the coolant in it or top it up but the car may need a service and let them know the problem.
you alternator looks like it need checking. it may be overcharging.would have the volts checked check with engine running should be a most 14 volts at idel with no load lights on 12.85volts or around that voltage any higher and it can damage the electrical system.
It sounds like the engine has a bad vacuum leak, they are very problematic for a leaking intake gasket. This usually would be accompanied with coolant loss, but not always. Other causes are loose air plentum snorkel (if air filter recently replaced) or a leaking vacuum hose. It could also be a sign of a computer problem starting. It would be best to have a technician or parts retailer scan it for you to narrow the problem down. The clunk noise maybe unrelated or possibly engine noise(like an intake issue), check the oil and coolant levels first.
"ABS light came on and Track-off light started blinking" This happened after I replaced the rear struts (shock absorbers") It turned out to be the left rear wheel sensor ($156.75). I must have damaged it when I replaced the strut. The way to check the 'rear' sensors is to remove the back seat to gain access to each sensor plug (2 prongs). Unplug it and check for continuity. If there is no continuity then you have a bad sensor, or an unlikely break in one of the wires. I checked for a break in each wire but they were fine.
sounds like you might of blown a head or intake manifold gasket or cracked head. If it sounds like a rollercoaster going up the tracks or tractor sound. it's that. It's expensive repair. My advice if you dont know anyone cheap get another used car until you fix it or whatever your situation is. Also, it idles up and down because of the air escaping from the crack. If engine doesnt hold constant pressurethats whate happens. everything is to the T when working with vehicles. Plus redline dont matter, theres a cut off point, however because of the high rev you could of caused the over rev and blew a gasket or cracked the heads. Especially if you didnt have the proper fluids to keep the temperature down. Good Luck. Been there.
