When the battery is good and hooked up and you go to start the vehicle is just makes a solid click clump and what would that be we are not understanding this noise the starter makes or is it ignition locked?
SOURCE: wont start
If the solenoid makes a clicking sound it isn't the ignition switch. Depends on the clicking sound, one click or rattling. Try turning on lights and trying to start, if lights go out when attempting to start, voltage problem(usually battery or bad connections).

Nothing by either party was said about the starter. The battery and wires can all be in great shape, and if they are and the owner hears a clicking noise when trying to start it its a pretty good bet they may have a starter that's locked up.
One good 'ole trick on those starters. If you can reach the starter, a couple of sharp rapes with a hammer will have it starting again, then you know it time to replace the starter.

it is an issue in the steering column. I am getting my 2005 back today, finally. 2 mechanics and they said they have never seen this issue before!!
The steering wheel has to be pulled off and the part replaced. It is cutting all power to the ignition switch. It is not the starter or the Alternator... it is in the steering column. It should be about 200.00 to fix.

Triple check your battery cables on the battery end .. esp the positive + side.. Side post batteries are notorius for that

Sounds like a bad ground. If the battery voltage does not drop when the starter is engaged, the starter is not getting the juice. Check the ground connection again. 90%
