Loss of power? How many miles? Plug, plug wire or ignition coil(if seperate poles) would be my guess.

SOURCE: Power steering message came on

Your power steering system is "electric" so it has a problem. Take it to a dealer or a shop that does a lot of GM repairs.

SOURCE: 2006 Pontiac G6 electrical power steering problems

The electrical steering system on the vehicle had a common problem with early failure caused by a sensor in the steering column. The correction is replacement of the steering column.

I have a manual 1990 VW JETTA GI. Was driving in bad rain probably an inch on roadway when all of a sudden temp gauge shot up oil light started blinking, battery light started blinking, and no power...

Looks like you loosing coolant somewhere. Check oil if is not looking milky. If not, you are lucky. Head gasket should be ok. Fill system with coolant. Put some cardboard under the car and run it on idle. Check where leak comes from. If car is dry under then check for wet carpet under dashboard. If carpet is wet then heater core or hoses have a leak

The electric power steering warning light has come on. I cannot start the car, but it does turn over. How can we make override the system to be able to crank the car?

You can't start the car due to a safety system lockout, you can't bypass that. Have the testing done. Isn't this under warranty?

Why does my eps light stays on 2006 jetta

this is the Electric Power Steering light , would be indicating a problem , does the steering feel heavy ?if not have the OBD codes read and any stored code cleared ,this may resolve the light staying on , if the steering feels ok it might have set the light off after going over a large bump for example, if the light comes back on then take to a repair shop as you dont want the steering to fail when driving

Steering light came on a 2006 jetta 5

Hmm, Your vehicle does not have a typical hydraulic power steering system, instead it has a electric actuator that assists the steering.

Get your vehicle (VAG-COM) scan for codes and post the VW fault codes or do a forum search once you have the fault codes.

You may possibly see the following codes:
  • 01309 - Power Steering Control Module (J500)
  • 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent

The steering light will be only two colors, yellow or red (in your case yellow):

Yellow means there is an issue with the system and it will run at reduced voltage when it can but you will still have assist.

Red means there is a serious issue were the system can not give you assist and you should not attempt to drive it like this.

The yellow light can be cause by many things, but most common is a low battery. When the battery voltage drops below 11.7v or so, the system stores a DTC and illuminates the icon to inform you there is an issue with the system and it may work at reduced assist. Since this system is so heavily dependent on a good charging system and battery.

Again I suggest drop by your local dealer and have them scan the Steering Module to see why the light is on.

The power steering warning light is coming on and turning off at random and fluttering between the red and amber settings, sometimes stopping on one color or the other for several minuets. it may turn on...

This problem is related to the Electro mechanical power Steering Assistent. They have no steering fluid pump, instead, they have electric motors to assist. You need to bring it to the dear so they can scan the problem. I own a 07 jetta, and same thing happen till the dealer fund a bad angle sensor. good luck
