First check All the fuses there should be several burned in the engine compartment fuse block and at least One in the dash fuse block. With any luck one of these fuses protected the computer if not you'll have to replace the PCM and get it programmed. This is a good time to pin out the PCM circuits to make sure sensors haven't been harmed, also check the charging system because the diodes in the alternator rectifier can't handle reverse polarity. I hope this helps. Take care.

SOURCE: 2002 lincoln ls engine light

These cars are famous for leaky seals where the valve cover interfaces with the cylinder head, at the spark plug journals. They fill with oil, short the coils and cause a misfire. Driving it any significant distance can destroy your catalytic converters ad unburnt fuel ignites therein, creating inferno-like conditions and a fire hazard too. You'll get a "300 code", such as 301 if cylinder 1 is misfiring, 302 for # 2, etc. Pull the coil off the spark plug for that cylinder and if it is moist at all, that's your issue. Have new seals put in, or you'll just keep blowing coils at $50 a whack.

SOURCE: I have a lincoln ls v6 2004 the check engine light

take it to Autozone or one of the other auto part places and they can tell you. From my own expreriance it would be the ignition coil and there is one for each cylinder.

SOURCE: 2004 Lincoln LS won't accelerate at 60mph, dies

Why would a dealer not be able to find the issue?
Start by checking codes.
If you have to, drive with a scanner, not a code reader on it,to capture data.
If it only has issues when turning the steering wheel and is speed related with the turning, you have a place to start.
I assume the dealer did all that.
I have a 2004 V8,so let me know, what help you need.

that was obd 1 systems ,the power is in the diagnostic connecter
by your right knee, need adapter to use battery KAM memory
back -up

The seat may only be released from the trunk--.have to check my 2004 LS

Battery dead no trunk access 2001 Lincoln LS how to jump start car

locate your starter motor. There you will find a thick single core cable (usually bolted onto solenoid).Get a fully charged battery and jumper leads.Connect negative lead to ground(any unpainted metal surface on chasis) or engine.Connect the positive clip to the stud described earlier. If you connect the other ends to the booster battery you should get enough power to open the trunk and then jump start the dead battery normally. If there seems to be no power in the circuits use the battery of a car with its engine running as a booster instead of a standalone battery.

Why wont my Lincoln ls start? There is just a click when I turn the key.

The click usually indicates a low battery or corrosion at the battery terminals. Try removing the cables (Negative first) and cleaning the battery terminals and cable connections. Reconnect the cables (Negative last), check and replenish the water in the battery cells if yours is a serviceable battery, and then try a "jump" start. If this fails, chances are that you need a new battery.

I started my 2004 lincoln ls and turned it off.. 10 minutes later I turned the key over and everything powers down when I try to start.. I tried to jump it and nothing happens.. Please help

Does it click when you try to turn it over? If so it sounds like a stuck/bad starter tap the starter with a hammer while someone tries starting it.

Jump start won't work on my 2004 Touareg V6

It all depends on several variables.
  • Were the connections clean? (battery cables and posts
  • Did you have a good connection with the jumper cables? (some battery posts are hard to get at and clamping a jumper cable can be difficult)
  • How long were the jumper cables left on? (weaker batteries will require leaving the jumpers on for a longer period of time (15-30 minutes)
  • Was the other car running? (jumping battery to battery will have the same effect as jumping alternator to battery)
  • Was the car with the dead battery warm or cold? (if the car you're trying to start was hot, it may not be the battery that's at fault
If the car you're trying to start is cold, ensure your battery connections are clean (manually cleaning is better but there are some very good sprays that work pretty well.  Leave the jumpers on for a longer period of time with the other car running.
I hope this solves your problem.  Best of luck.
