Have you replaced the clutch switch? If so, you might need to adjust it so it hits correctly. If not, I suggest you replace the clutch switch.

SOURCE: ac clutch going out on 93 dodge dakota

If the clutch is noisy from a bad bearing then don't drive far,if the compressor clutch pulley bearing seizes up it will freeze the pulley and the belt will burn off, and you are stuck, if you mean the anything else besides this drive it.

SOURCE: 96 Dodge Ram Gas Gauge always on empty

The fuel pump and the sensor is altogether as one assembly. So if you buy the pump you would also be buying the sensor. Just for your information the pump is located in the gas tank under the bed, so you have two ways to change it. One is take the bed off (which is a lot easier if you have a full gas tank). But if its empty than use a jack to lower the tank down from underneath the truck. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Where is the neutral safety switch?

IF you have a chrysler 727 trans it's on the left rear corner of the case just above the trans pan (has 3 wires on it) If you have an asi trans, I'm not sure where they put it but I'd look around the linkage going into unit and on the other side (like jeeps have)

Whats wrong with my 96 cavalier?

No computer involved in cranking, see attached diagram. Just a fuse, ignition switch, clutch/transmission safety switch and starter solenoid.

You can troubleshoot the circuit with a DMM or an inexpensive automotive incandescent test lamp referenced to the battery negative post. Alway reference to a battery post even if it means rigging up a 15 foot jumper wire.

Probe both sides of the fuse and the lamp should light (bright) or DMM should read near battery voltage. Then same at the starter solenoid when key is in start position and then everywhere in between. My money is on a bad ground or the safety switch.

If it's an automatic transmission, set parking brake or hold foot on brake, turn key and hold in start position and move trans selector to neutral and see if there's a spot where it cranks.

Replaced the slave cylinder on a dodge dakota now it wont start how do i fix it

The clutch slave cylinder shouldn't cause a no-start condition. If you replaced the clutch master cylinder there is a possibility that you may have to readjust the clutch safety switch in order to make it work to allow the engine to crank. If the engine cranks but doesn't start, you may want to look around down near the side of the transmission where you were working to ensure that you did not damage or remove the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector. If this is damaged or removed the engine will not start.

I have a 96 dodge Dakota 2.4 L , 4 cylinder. I installed 3 oil sensor switches, thinking they could be bad. I have no reading on oil gage in cab. I grounded lead to sensor, gage working. On the other

Try using a cheap mechanical oil gauge to make sure you do have oil pressure. If you do, something is preventing the senders from making ground to the engine. Are you using tape or sealer on sender threads? DON"T. the threads are the ground for the sender.

1987 dakota, will not crank over, battery, starter fine, whats wrong?

If automatic could possibly be safety engage on shifter; or if automatic could be the safety switch on clutch. On auto try to rock vehicle and reengage shifter. Standard check clutch switch.

On my 92 dakota I'm not sure if its my starter or my ignition that's gone bad when I turn the key not a peep comes out of it but the ignition doesn't feel quite right so I don't want to go blow money on a...

just slide under the truck and test for 12 volts at the small wire to the starter whilel turning the ignition key. If you have 12 volts then it's your starter or engine ground strap. if not then you can suspect the ignition switch, neutral safety switch, clutch switch, fuse, relay or alarm with disabler.

I was driving when my 96 dodge dakota quit running. i tested the fuel pump it was good so i put a ecm on it.it still won't fire and the fuel pump does not run and what is the shutdown relay for

the crank and cam sensors send ref. to the pcm. if they are bad the truck will not start. the asd relay should be the same as another. if you feel it may be the problem...try switching it with one of the others. maybe the ac clutch relay.
