Do a throttle body cleaning and that should help with the idle. Cleaning the throttle body will also clean out the tabv (throttle body air bypass valve)valve which controls the idle.

SOURCE: truck starts but will not idle

IT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE INTAKE GASKETS. FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GASKETS GOING BAD. IF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND GIVING YOU CODES PO171 AND PO174 I WOULD CHECK THE GASKETS BY SPRAYING CARB. CLEANER AROUND THE INTAKE WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. IF THE IDLE SPEEDS UP THEN THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.

SOURCE: 2002 f250 v10 engine quits after warm up at idle only

DTC = P0720
footnote b = MIL (malfunction indicator light) comes on after 2nd occurance
footnote c = tranny control indicator light (TCIL) flashes
circuit = OSS = output shaft speed sensor in the tranny (not the variable speed sensor (VSS) in the diff).
condition = OSS sensor circuit malfunction
probable causes = Short/open circuit, sensor, PCM

My guess? Replacing the OSS will take care of it. smile.gif I hope you don't have a faulty PCM. frown.gif

WOULD CHECK BRAKE SWITCH FIRST AS THESE HAVE A HIGH FAILURE RATE.

I have a 1999 f250 Super Duty v10 that is only running on the passenger side cylinders and will not exceed 25 30 miles per hour

run the fault codes and look for ignition control module problems
v8 and v10 engines have a system where by every other cylinder fires when idling or for low power requirements but all are supposed to be running at revs

2001 f250 v10 dies while running reestarts ok

If this is happening when you foot is off the throttle, try this...........

First eliminate all vacuum or air leaks in the system (very important)

. You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.

1999 F250 4x4 Rough idle, miss when warm. No CEL.

I know this will sound Stupid But, Change the Cap Cap. If the Seal is Bad on the Cap it will allow air Into the Fuel tank and Cause your Rough Idle.
