SOURCE: 1993 ford aerostar door ajar light on, but dome light is not

It could be a bad contact on the slider door,(or any of the doors) but they were known for the slider door contact.

SOURCE: how do u change interior dome light 2004 ford

For the none rail system front console ( where the map lights are at ), open the rear compartment, and grab each rear corner, and pull down hard.
It is held up with 4 ( 6? ) spring clips. It will be very hard the first time you do this.

If you are talking about the rear dome lamp, if you checked the 3 position switch location ( on, on w/ doors, always off ) if you look at the side opposite the switch, you should see a notch in the lens, this is where you use a small screw driver to carefully push in the tab that holds the dome lamp up.

If it is the rail system, the front is still held on with spring clips, and is a bit tricky to get a good hold. I suggest a plastic trim tool to grab the end of the console where it meets the roof liner, to pull it down.

My interior light will not turn off after shutting down engine

There is a timer on the dome light. Have you verified that it doesn't turn off after a few minutes? Sounds like a pin switch in your door is sticking. Apply WD-40 to all pin switches.

Dome light and cargo lights stay on after doors are shut.

You need to replace that bumper or switch setting so the lights don't come on at all.

Ford f150 crew cab 2004...what controls radio and dome light delays? when I open my door the dome light Does NOT come on, it used to. it DOES come on when I shut the truck off,and open the door. ALSO, when...

This can be one of 2 things.

1. The door ajar switch ( part of the door latch ) is gummed up and a good spraying of WD-40 can clean it out. Could take several times to cure the issue.

The other specific to New Body Style 04-08 MY F-150 :

2. There is a bad splice in the driver's side door sills. On the SUperCrew it is usually closer to the c-pillar on the rear door.
These are pictures of the 2 splice locations :

The splice is a 3 way splice ( 2 wires to 1 wire ) and covered in something that looks like hockey tape. The splice gets wet, and no longer wrks. You might have to go back further into the harness to find wire that is not discolored if this is the case. Takes quite a bit of time to find the splices, as there are a lot of wires in the door sill.
