Try to replace the alarm main box, it could be damaged already.

SOURCE: A4 steering lock does not engage and car won't turn over

The steering locks don't necessarily engage when the key is removed, I always turn the wheel before exiting to engage it. There are several positions that will allow the pin to lock in but if between these, it may seem that it isn't locked.

SOURCE: Cannot turn off security Alarm

If this is a factory alarm try using the the key in the door lock and turning the door lock manually. I have seen this issue in chrysler models as well. If this does not work try replacing the batteries in the key fob as this will cause falfunctions as well.

SOURCE: keys lock in trunk alarm will not allow trunk switch to lock

The solution is to pull out the back seat to get into the trunk. There are two bolts holding the bottom part of back seat (bolts located between bottom and top sections). Then pull out bottom section of back seat and you see the hinge for the top section, remove the bolts and then you can lift up and access the trunk. It's not that hard.

Every time I open driver side door the alarm goes off but not the passenger side. I put key in ignition it stops. What can I do to stop it.

stop locking the door with the lock button while the door is open. That engages the factory alarm. You can also use the key in the driver door lock to disarm the system

Electrique door lock problem on my Honda CRV 2001. Door locking by itself? How can I fix it?

if the door is locking constantly it is a bad doorlock switch most likely driver door, or wire could be nicked by the doorlock switch. if it locks when you turn on the ignition you most likely have an aftermarket alarm that was never taken out of the car and is now causing problems because the battery was recently changed or disconnected

My door chime wont stop ringing when the driver side door is open and the keys are out of the ignition. how can i fix this?

I just found out that the problem on our 1998 windstar was the chime switch attached to the ignition switch. This chime switch when dislodged will short and act as if the keys are still on when the door is open ( thus sounding off the alarm). I had a hunch that the problem was close to the steering wheel because the alarm would stop if I change the angle of the steering wheel a couple of notches up or down. I guess when i did that the chime switch that i'm pertaining to get reset to the right position and stops the alarm. when i opened up the steering wheel housing around the ignition , the chime switch fell, it had a blk wire I think, and I saw that the clips on it were kind of melted thus not sticking to its right position. I just had to remove the ignition switch for a while and replaced the chime switch with the help of a zip tie wrapped around it. then I placed every part back together and no chimes... also I did this all while the battery was disconnected because i needed the ignition switch to be in the on position to get it off the steering wheel. Good luck guys!

My Honda CR-V EX 2005 doors lock by themselves. Occasionally, after you unlock it with the remote key, it locks itself before you can get in. It also happens sometimes when I unlock the car, then open the...

They all do it, its part of the security system that all the doors lock after a minute or so from unlocking if you don't open the driver's door.
It prevents you from accidentally unlocking the car door while walking away and clicking the remote in your pocket, the car re-locks on its own.
If you open with the remote then open only the rear door, the other doors all lock and when you close the rear the alarm goes off.
What fun we have!
