Remove the screws from the sunshade mounting plate. Pull downwards in order to disengage the sunshade from the roof. Pull down the sunshade in order to access the electrical connectors, if equipped with a vanity mirror. Disconnect the electrical connections from the sunshade, if equipped with a vanity mirror.
Important: Do not rotate the sunshade on shaft. Doing so may cause the sunshade to become mis-aligned and not properly retained.
Remove the sunshade from the roof.

I would have thought maybe a wet body control ecu or somthing like that

So--there is no back-light on the heat panel and roof mounted display?
Similarly to a gauge cluster--there are bulbs that produce the back-light. I have a 90's vehicle and I had to replace the bulbs in the heat panel and on the gauge cluster. On some vehicles however you have to take the whole car apart just to access these bulbs. So--just take your time, consult a book, and check the bulbs to see if this is the culprit.

I believe that you probably have the screws lying on the floor of the vehicle, just look around. and please let me know.

its the roof mounted aerial ,nut holds it in take it off and put some silicone around it and refit

i had the same probmlem its coming from one of 3 lights is the center quick fix was to use clear silicon from wal mart .. also it can leak from the moulding near the corners of the windsheald but rare...

After market ---  Electrical or Mechanical? If you have a A/M Mechanical this is easy.Find where you want to mount it, in side the cab. run the sensor tube out to the eng. bay. thru the fire wall. Find a place on the engine head any where you find a plug that is the same size as the fitting in the kit. Drain coolant and install your sensor tube. Some come with lights, find your fuse to your running lights and push your gage light wire in next to the fuse and your done. Sim. if dealing with a electrical gage- Mount your gage, run your wiring out thru the fire wall out to the sensor fitting, drain coolant mount your sensor wire it up. hook up the light same way. 

the lamp covers usually pop off. Look for a slot to insert a screwdriver.

Removal and Installation

1. Insert flat screwdriver tip into notch at forward edge of roof console (519A58).
   

1. Push screwdriver rearward, compressing retaining clip. Pull forward edge of roof console down away from headliner.
   

1. Disconnect electrical connector by depressing square locking tab and pulling connector end out of roof console.
   

1. Removeroof console.
   

1. To install, reverse Removal procedure.
   

will it work while in the ignition and running?
