I have a 95 dodge 360 magnum i found 4 pushrods bent what could cause this to happen

I just put a 96 360 magnum in my 97 dodge 4x4 that had a 318 in it. Yes it does fit. I noticed that the flex plate on the 360 has balance weights on it and the 318 does not. Make sure the plate stays with the 360. The torque converter and exhaust manifolds bolted right up. The 96 360 engine had different connector plugs on the Map sensor, Crank Sensor and Tps. Get those off of your 318.
I did notice that with the 96 PCM for the 360 my fuel guage was off quite a bit. The 360 will run off of the 318 computer at least if your in a bind for Money.

do hope this is only a sunday car,and your not polluting the air we all have to breathe by using it every day of the week.best of british with it cant help much as never seen one of these beasts,now putting a jaguar engine in a mini or an alfa engine in a ford anglia ??

SOURCE: why do i have low compression in only one cylinder

Here is a easy way to find out,its called a leakage test and here is how you can do it,bring that cylinder top dead center,you may have to remove that valve cover and make sure all valves are bottomed out.put 50 psi of air in the spark plug hole remove radiator cap air cleaner and oil fill,listen for the air comeing out.if you have air coming from your air cleaner you have a intake valve bad,do the same with the exhaust,if you have bubbles in your radiator you have a blown headgasket,if you hear alot of air comeing from your oil fill you have a problem with that piston,I hope this helps you,

If it is a push rod or a loose rocker arm it wouldnt be rattling it would be ticking or knoking.

intate and exhaust push rods are the same size and part numbrer, so nothing will happen, they are both
6.9" overall length

Bent pushrods on 95 dodge magnum 360

Light blue or blue/grey smoke is burnt engine oil and it is worth carrying out an accurate oil consumption test in order to decide whether it is excessive (better than 750 miles per litre is considered economically acceptable).

Bent pushrods are usually the result of over-revving the engine to the point of valve bounce. At high mileage the valve springs weaken and valve bounce occurs at progressively lower revs. Exceeding safe revs will often throw out a pushrod if the engine design allows enough room and it used to be a common problem - being called out to a truck with a misfire somewhere near the bottom of a steep hill, only to discover it was nothing more than a thrown pushrod; the driver had clearly engaged a lower gear at too high a road speed.
If the pushrod has nowhere to go, it often results in a bend and sometimes a breakage or with some engines a displaced rocker post...

You may have a valve problem, bent shaft..rocker and pushrods stay the same, the slack comes from the valve.

Whats the cause of a slightly bent pushrod and a rocker arm to nearly come off?

the high lift cam has no compensation and so the valve retainer bottomed out causing the rocker to slip sideways and bend the push rod
you would have been better fitting a prolonged duration cam rather that a high lift for the following reasons
1 --- you can used standard rocker gear
2 ---there is no valve bounce at high rpm
3 --- smoother air flow in the inlet manifold so there is not such a stop/ start action when rpm is low
4--- less wear on cam followers and cam lobes
cam shafts are all about open duration so longer open with smaller lift is better than the same duration with a fast up and down action
