I am trying to find out where the transmission relay circuit is on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited. also what does code P1768 stand for and how do I solve this problem?

P0001 OBD-II Trouble Code: Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit/Open

If you get this DTC, you may want to try reading the codes using another (if possible) higher quality code reader. Even clear the code and see if the code comes back. Now with the code you said you had, P01768. DTC P1768 will set when TCM senses less than 3 volts at transmission control relay output (switched battery) terminals at TCM, prior to TCM energizing relay
Possible Cause
" Low battery voltage.
" Open fused B+ circuit to transmission control relay.
" Open ground circuit.
" Transmission control relay output circuit shorted to ground.
" Open transmission control relay circuit.
" Defective transmission control relay.
" Malfunctioning TCM. (very rare)

Aside from getting into an accident and having your wiring harness severely damaged, the other likely suspect is your PCM. These codes are not related to each other and indicate a much larger problem.

P1768 - Performance / Normal / Winter Mode Input Malfunction

I would suggest you have the shift solenoid electrically tested to determine if they are at fault here or that you have a wiring issue or a failed Transmission control module. You will need the help of a transmission shop to diagnose this properly, do not just replace parts until you are sure they are the problem.

Trouble Code: P0846

A/T 2/4 Pressure Switch Circuit Malfunction
Possible Causes:


2/4 pressure is incorrect, or internal transmission faults exist 2/4 pressure switch circuit is open, shorted to ground or power 2/4 pressure switch is damaged or it has failed TCM relay power circuit to L/R switch is open (loss of B+) PCM/TCM has failed

The IAC valve may be hanging high . If you have a scan tool that can display data pids you can see the IAC value . I will check to see the idle specs on it . Which engine do you have .

Hi, Your like your jeep is in limp in mode, this is to keep you from burning up transmission and to get you some were off the road, the p1768 code means A/T Transmission Relay Output Always Off. This should be checked out by your local shop or dealer. but you should make sure that the fluid level is correct, if to low there is not enough fluid pressure for the solenoid's to engage the relays. P0700 means there is a transmission fault code in the transmission controller. Since the transmission controller doesn't have a light attached, it tells the engine controller to turn the light on using this code. You'll have to access the transmission controller to further diagnose the problem.

Unfortunately, the relay may be located inside the transmission. Try utube if you have not already.
