The stereo in my 2008 chevy trailblazer, sound goes from normal to just coming from the dash speakers and sounding like from a tincan. Wondering what needs to be fixed.

Sounds like the speakers are blown did you have sound there before or is this somthing that just happend. I would try a new speaker if the problem is still there check the wires for breaks.But sounds like a blown speaker also find out if there is a factory amp and if you have done any new wiring to the sterio check that aswell hope this helps.

I have a strong feeling that the head unit "radio" has finally gone bad. You describe a situation, in which you have to turn it on and off, to get it to work. Typically if the sound comes out of all speakers, after doing that, then the speakers were never broken. The head unit itself should be replaced. I hope this helps.

try a different deck out in your truck, it could be the contacts behind the volume knob or the speaker wires are loose

To get the sound to come out of the wireless headphones, you need to use the "headphone" button on the top left of the DVD remote like the one pictured here: http://www.audiovideo2go.com/categories/Car--DVD-Remotes/Dodge-DVD-Remotes/
